konica minolta 306i error c2558

dear friends

KM 306i error c2558 comes occationalty machine starts scanning but print not made, i just replaced the developer then the print comes normal, but after 200 copies developer getting undertoned. i manualy add the toner, now the same error code c2558 displayed. i dont have any manual for this model. how the clear it.

That's a high toner concentration, not low. Bad toner every time we've seen it. Vacuum out the hopper. Really only a few good aftermarket toners. Unless you've vetted hundreds of bottles, just use OEM. Especially since it's about the same price for black. Ktn is good bizhub toner. We used another compatible for years, thousands of bottles with pretty good results, but 2558's popped up and a lot of toner dust in the filters.

Thanks for replay, i just replaced the developer, then the machine working fine, but after taking 100 copies the developer gets under toned and toner not added, and also the low toner message also not showned. need the solution.

Have you checked the front end of the toner hopper? Pry the clip and remove the white cap and see if it's clogged. That causes c2557 LOW toner code. Remove the rubber seal inside the white cap. There's a bulletin on this to remove from all 4 colors while you're there to prevent toner clogs.
I don't that's your issue, because you report C2558 HIGH toner code.
You have not said you have vacuumed out the old K toner and tried OEM toner. DO THAT, or confirm you already have.

oem toner has developer in it that replenishes the unit.
i didnt get an answer as to what toner you are trying.

Bizhub 306i should be bizhub 306 with new control board and operation panel.
Developer, drum, toner and 90% of parts should be the same as in bizhub 306.
When you change developer, first you have to vacuum developing unit, and pour new OEM DV-116.
Run ATDC sensor adjustment (without inserting toner bottle) Value around 170 is shown as a result. Turn OFF/ON the machine and insert toner.
Run few copies. In service mode check toner density (not ATDC sensor value) - should be around 80.
Toner density above 100 shows C2558.
To clear C2558 run few copies with ADF fully open.
That will empty tonet from dev unit and will lower toner density value. If C2558 shows OFF/ON and run few fully black copies again.
Every 10 copies check toner density value in service mode.

C2558 can occur with OEM tlner also, usually when customer doesn't replace toner after first warning (low) and sucks all toner from dev unit.
When new bottle is inserted, replenishing is much longer and in that scenario there is a posibility that more toner than actually needed is filled inside dev unit which results in C2558.

My bad. Never seen or heard of a 306i so I assumed it was like most every other current bizhub i series and/or he mistyped 360i vs306i or it was a foriegn model but same architecture. Sorry for all the wrong info. Techs should not assume. Appreciate you letting me know!
