    KM 3035- faint line

We looked at 1 of these the other day because it was putting lines on the pages. We got there and it was hard to see what they were talking about.

There's a very faint line maybe 1/4" from the left side. Looks like on the lead edge with paper in the portrait direction. It had the drum unit replaced about 90,000 pages ago- but in 2019.

Maint kit back in 2017. It's the only one we work on. Account can pay to get things fixed normally but not replace machine unfortunately.

If it is the leading edge of the image, you can adjust the image registration and leading edge void, so the leading edge resides in the void area like it should.

It might also be the effects of using non-genuine monocomponent toner. There's only one fix for that. Vacuum out the unit and install genuine toner.

It would be nice to see an image ... maybe to can catch it on an enlarged photo. What have you done so far?
Usually customers with 20 year old copiers begin to relax those image quality requirements. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Check developer and main corona. Yiu can vacuum the developer anf run sym u130. For corona remove the grid and clean with some fantastic or similar the wire. Also clean optics.

If tou can post a picture of it like he said.

I still have those machines in the field for self service customers.

        Re: KM 3035- faint line

I tried to scan 1 or 2 pages but it wouldn't show anything. I am sort of wondering as I look at them closer maybe the lead registration was off.

So far this time we were just seeing what they were talking about with the lines. Initially our tech was like wtf why did you call us. lol

They have a Savin/Ricoh machine also that we have been working on. This Kyocera has hit 1,000,000 pages. I have sent them only OEM toner when they have ordered it. Looks like we sent them a toner in 2022 and before that in 2019. Replaced some feed rollers and a pf unit in 2020. Last PM part would have back in 2019- drum unit and charge corona unit. I'm pretty sure from a maint kit. They have done about 50,000 pages since 2020 up to now on this machine.

It looked like the dash marks on the Kyocera meter print out thing were closer to the edge on the right side than the left. Also on the 2 other photos the line was about 1/8" from the edge. Maybe 3/8" on the meter report page.

I would normally say clean charge grid, but that is so faint it looks more like a fuser wear line from a sep claw that has worn the coating off (if it's coming out letter R)
I'm sure you checked that though. How are still getting parts for that old machine? I can't believe the doc feed conveyance roller hasn't turned to goo yet, I hated replacing those things.

Yes, I think it's the image registration showing the leading edge of the paper.

You can confirm genuine toner by observing the hologram sticker on the front of the toner cartridge. If genuine toner has been installed only recently, it will take a while for it to consume the generic toner in the DV unit. Toner is supplied only from the front of the DV unit, so image quality improves quicker at the front. =^..^=

I would have never thought of that. Makes sense but I would have never thought of it.,

Just a FYI every now and then you should clean that LSU glass behind the drum .

Clean optics also with the brush provided clean above the charge roller the "spikes line "
check the surface of charge roller. Also if replaced the spring that push the charge roller and the pressure is uneven.
                  Check developer magnetic roller.
