    [Error Code] What is Error Code F24B?

    Working on FS-4100DN customer printing a huge batch of invoices, in the middle of batch machine displays this error F24B. Power off/on machine, It continues the batch where it left off and completes job.

    I found this as a general error code list:

    F2 RAM read/write error. Checksum is failed with the RAM onthe main controller board.

    is the standard 256MB memory faulty?

      Are you sure about the CF24B? A much more common error is CF248, which is a print data error. Just clearing the corrupt print job will resolve this error. From what I've seen, some crucial packet of your print job got lost, and never made it to the printer. If it happens often, I'd look for a corrupt or wrong print driver.

      I wouldn't be surprised if the definition is similar. =^..^=

          What OS are they using?
          What driver are they using?
          Is this printing from an exclusive or custom software that has just been upgraded?

                  I'm getting a similar error on a KM-2820 MFP... Why aren't these errors listed in service manuals?

                      Kyocera doesn't seem to think that we, as technicians, need to know information about "engineering codes". Even if you call the hotline, all you'll get is the most sketchy description.

                      There's a spreadsheet in circulation, assembled my a tech, describing what most of these engineering codes mean. =^..^=

                          BlackCat, this is indeed very disappointing... Gonna try to get the user to clear the print queues and see if that works...

                              I've gotten most of these print data errors from Mac computers. I don't know why, but that's where I would start looking first. =^..^=

                                  Hey Blackcat,

                                  I went to check the MFP this morning, sure enough there were erroneous jobs all over the network... I cleared them all, and did a firmware update... Everything is back to normal. Thanks for the advise!

                                          I just got a service call and had this same error in the description. F24B. Also says that pages are coming out painted black which might be a difference between PS and PCL driver. Will be heading out in the morning.

                                              I made the same mistake. Looked very much like a "B". It's not. Corrupt print job. Some times turning off will reset....sometimes not. Turn unit off. If it pops again....power unit off.....unplug network cable.....power up.....if code does not pop......bad print job.......if code pops up again.........wait a minute, I have never seen it come up again with network cable unplugged. Clear print jobs from the cue.

                                                  I've had a few that just wouldn't quit sending. If you set your laptop to the printers IP address then connect it in place of the printer, the print job clears. In extreme cases I've had to change the IP of the printer to prevent whatever kind of data from arriving, then one at a time resetting the port on each print driver. =^..^=

                                                      I had the same issue on a Ecosys P2135DN.
                                                      F24B not F248!

                                                      I'll go back tomorrow.
                                                      I'll try to connect the printer with a LAN cable direct to the computer of the client.
                                                      I guess network or main PWB issue....

                                                          Kyocera did some Firmware up-dates on several models to correct these communications errors.
                                                          Do a Firmware up-date as a precaution ... what could it hurt ?
