        Hi Guys,

Having the same issues, installed PaperCut onto the machine and then removed it, still coming up.

Not sure where to go now.

        Regards,

        Richard.

Where you able to find a fix for this issue?
Sorry, no. Techs don't carry toner.

            Hello,

            not really.

We formatted the NVRAM and programmed it new.

Then the Machine runs great until today.

            Greetings

I have had this issue before with 3rd party software before.

I know its in the SP5-xxx, you need to delete all signs of it as it rights data to a specific part in service mode

I will see if I can dig up the answer at work for you tomorrow

Oh no. Hope I didnt jynx you! I did find something that helped me. In user tools:machine features: system settings: interface settings: restore IEEE 802.1X. Not sure why this works but no more error code and machine is functioning fine now

                  Re: SC 637-01 on a MPC 4504

Anyone figure this out yet? I've got a customer with a MP C5502 that had put papercut on and when they disconnected their card reader the SC637 showed up. Only thing i could find on a 637 was this thread. Called my regional Ricoh tech support rep and its all he could find. Then I searched the knowledge base and nothing came up for the 5502 but when I remembered this thread was for the 4504 I searched that and came up with this.

[User Tools -> ([Machine Features]) -> [System settings] -> [Administrator Tools] -> [Enhanced Print Volume Use Limitation] -> [Tracking Permission] to OFF

seems to be working. wish i would've found this earlier. would've saved me 8 hours at the machine.

                  steps I had taken
                  -Upgraded FW
                  -Upgraded Java
                  -Reformatted the HDD
-Ran all5801's until I finally did a clear all
-waited for Ricoh tech support to call me back last week (HA! yeah right)

Had this problem too on a mp 2555.

Machine was in demo room and we sold it but somebody had installed Nuance program in it.

We deleted it in extended features settings and formated the hdd and memory 4-24ishhh

I installed a fax and got this code while testing it.

Got here and found this solution but when i got in the menu it told me i didn't have the priviliges to change it.

Just went to the usertools main menu and press and hold # and the system settings button to reset to factory settings

                    It worked !

I also had this one on a new mp c306sp. SC637-01 appears arbitrary if one tries color calibration, printer configpage printout etc...
My colleagues from showroom had to test installed MyQ soluition on the machine.
In the meantime, the new machine should be preinstalled in the workshop for another customer. I have uninstalled the app an d the problems began.
What I've tried: 1. HDD format all, 2. Add book init all, 3. FW package with each FW file in romdata update, 4. Cheetah system SOP update, 5. LegacyUI and App updates of SOP, 6. Memory clear SP-5-801-*** without SP-5-801-001 and SP-5-801-002!!!), 7. SP-5-761-001 Cheetah restore the defaults.. but no luck. The solution was a SP-5-801-001. Nice work to enter non defaults to the machine from birth cert

We've just had this on one of our showroom copiers as well. Once again the IT numpties installed trial solutions on a machine then when they removed it didn't set everything back to factory standard.
With the help of the wizards at NTS we tried these setting which seems to have done the trick.

Check User Tools > System Settings:
                        1. User Authentication Management > set to "OFF"
                        2. Machine action when limit is reached > set to "Allow Continue Use"
                        3. Enhanced Print Volume Use Limitation > Tracking Permission & Stop Printing > set to "OFF"
                        4. Auto Delete User in Address Book > set to "OFF"
                        5. SP-5-401-230 > set to Initial (00H)

Edit.. forgot to say didn't have to reformat HDD or wipe NVRAM so didn't have to spend hours re-entering the birth cert info. and end up with a confused copier.
At least 50% of IT is a solution looking for a problem.

My theroy is the removal of the software solution via DRS corrupts the machines Java SDK.
I fixed it in the end by re-installing the software solution then disabling and removing it manually from the WIM.

This came about after spending hours of trying various things (some mentioned above).
The only thing I didn't do was a memory all clear as it can cause far more problems than it solves in my experience

I just performed these steps on our MP 6503 that had PaperCut removed and it resolved the SC 637s we were getting. Thanks for the great info!
