[Error Code] Error SC302 after changing PCU

I recently changed the Color PCU in our Ricoh Aficio SP C411dn, which is in three parts. After I turned the machine on, I got the SC 302 message. The message is one of a set, each one identifying the particular color pcu (C,Y,M or K). It pointed to the C, so I removed it, and it was missing a piece. There is a white plastic round piece on one end that's flat on top. It was missing. I took one off the old PCU and put it on the new one. I re-installed the PCU and turned the machine back on, and it worked! Hurrah!

I'm confused by the purpose of this post...especially since it seems that you created an account entirely to explain something so obvious to us

......So you replaced a component that created a problem that didn't exist before you touched the machine. Obviously, you either did something to cause the problem, or the component you've replaced is defective (in some way).
    Pretty obvious stuff. Thanks

The reason for the post was to help someone else who might receive a defective part (one of the PCUs) to be able to solve the problem. Nowhere else did I find any reference to changing a PCU resulting in an SC302 error code.

You know reply's like that is full of sarcasm is one reason this is one of the last place I come for help, and if I can't find it in a search I dread posting a question. The only reason I'm posting this is to let you know you are not alone. Mongo

The PCDU comes as one complete unit, what exactly do you mean by "I recently changed the Color PCU in our Ricoh Aficio SP C411dn, which is in three parts"

Cyan, magenta, yellow, adds up to three, simple math.

Most Ricoh color printers have maintenance kits that include CMYK. All three colors plus black equals four.
