[Misc] MP 501(SP5300)/Kyocera M3550 (FS4300) - is there part number for heat roller?

    Hi!
Just wondering... If we could only replace just upper heat roller on that (Ricoh/Kyocera) platform without changing whole unit. Does anyone had positive experience with compatible heat rollers on those machines (since we don't have genuine part numbers)?
    Thanks!

most times it's best to rebuild or replace... how many pages on the unit?

It's not just one machine but small fleet of SP5300 and MP501s. Roughly - meter counts on those between 150 and 200k at the moment.

I feel sorry for you, this machine is a POS.

On some models it is less expensive to replace the entire assembly than to attempt to rebuild.

Only the whole unit is shown in the parts catalog, at least Ricoh's anyhow.

I can understand the desire to rebuild these. They are rated for 500k but I have yet to see one reach even a reasonable percentage of that value. I have replaced fusers with as little as 120k and no more than maybe 350k.

I agree with the general sentiment that these are a real POS. I'd be grateful if Ricoh just updated the SP5200 engine instead of rebadging these Kyocera boxes.

I agree. The 5210 had issues but was a tank compared to the 501. The maintenance kits and AIO cartridge was/is a bonus to techs. Just an updated GW+ controller and smart op panel on the 5210 and it would be close to perfect.

There is custom firmware to help with the fuser life, I have not tried it, so I don't know if it really helps.

I hated the 5210. They were put in places where people were used to a full size copier and got beat to death. Paper trays are junk. Finisher is a nightmare, the doc feed gets the top opened too far and the pressure roller release pulled out of socket. Decide to print dark pages just out of the blue. Duplex plates get broken to easy, fuser has life expectancy of a donut at the police station, front door flimsy causing laser codes...did I mention that I hate these things? The small desktop sized machines was a mistake from start to finish. Especially when they try to place them in the wrong application.

If it's a kyocera engine the fusers arent rebuildable they are only replaced as a unit.

Here is the kyocera part#302LV93133 FK-3130 I dont know the ricoh cost on these but I am sure the kyocera one is cheaper if they didnt modify it.

                          But, are they interchangable?

Don't have any Kyoceras of that type - in field to check that theory , can only make some pictures and compare to some other pictures... Usually all Kyocera stuff has 302....... and FK-.... in their part catalogs. To me it looks like Kyocera made another production line just for Ricoh and within that line Kyocera just continued to assemble units just with another labels and gave them 302SB93070, FK-3160(U) to not come across 302LV93133 FK-3130 respectively.

The way stickers looks - it's pure Kyocera. Frame should be same, thermistor's Ohm resistance - pretty sure value is equal between units. Anyways, it's just a theory...
                            Thanks!

Often what is different is an alignment pin or slightly moving the position of a connector.
