    Ricoh SOP Design Tool

Hi, hoping someone can help with the above.

I'm looking for a copy of of the SOP design tool in order to alter the SOP.

I have a 12 dot menu button that is disabled and I need it to be able to add the copier & scanner shortcuts back to the desktop.

The models of printer I have with this problem are:

    MPC 307
    MPC 4504

The SOP has been edited to remove the ability to press the menu button so that you can see all the app/widgets.

I'll need to use the SOP design tool to edit the SOP's functionality.

Really hoping someone can help, I have a number of printers with this issue where they have come from a nuance follow you printing environment and need to revert to original settings.

Maybe there's some way to factory restore the printers and it will remove any alterations to the SOP, removing the nuance application and present the factory desktop with the icons to the print / copy / scan functions.

    Thanks in advance.

      Hi no not quite.

      Below is a generic image.

      AAE2AB87-FE7D-4E3F-AA42-84E2AEB40EF5.jpg

The 12 dot menu circled in red, is blocked and none of the desktop icons are present as they have been removed using the SOP design for tool.

Pressing the 12 dot menu icon should take you to another screen where it allows you to select apps to be placed on the desktop.

You just need to login and turn off Administrator Authentication.

im not 100%, but if you remove admin privileges that might keep you from making certain changes. and you might only be able to make general user changes.

              Yes. Turn them all off

There are a very small handful of high end settings that aren't available unless signed in as admin, but none that I've ever personally used that I can recall

Thank you, appreciate the quick response and confirmation.

I will follow up on Monday with the results.

The only thing I have had any problem with are a few security settings that remain in effect even if all administrator authentication has been turned off.

                    Re: Ricoh SOP Design Tool

I couldn't get the aforementioned fixes to work. It kept telling me that I had to turn off administrator authentication, even though I was in administer authentication management, there was no option to do so.

I used the service menu via the reset password by pressing the lower of the 3 physical buttons on the side of the display panel (SOP) and pressed "Check Status". This brought me to a numeric keypad. I then typed "RESET806182##C" Then this brought me to a menu where I chose Apps, install, uninstall, then selected "nuance embedded for SOP". This then completely removed nuance.

I was then able to use the copier as normal by logging in as admin each time and then I get the print / copy / scan icons and full access to the 12 menu.

I've yet to figure out how to get the printer back to it's factory defaults, where when you boot the machine up, it is at the desktop showing the copy / print / scan options. I can only get them when I log in (there's a login window that immediately appears after it's finished booting) as administrator. If I close this login window, without logging in, I get the desktop with no apps and no access to the 12 dot menu.

I've found the "erase memory" options and you can select how many times you'd like to erase, but the option to actually carry it out is greyed out.

This happens when there is still some software installed on the machine. Check extended features and uninstall everything that isn't Java and try again.
