[Jamming] Plockmatic BK 5010 Booklet Maker

    Hi just joined,thanks for reading.

I have a Bk5010 Booklet maker that jams a stack of 17 inch pages as it is about to be fed into the Press rollers for folding.
To me it looks like the feed roller assy which sits in the middle of the stack is scewing the paper thwards the rear frame, causing a jam. Has anyone seen this ? perhaps I need new feed roller assy, unfortunately this unit is a one off for me and I have no support. Can anyone help please. Manny

I had something similar. Plockmatic would staple and then jam. Problem was bent staples in the crimp bar that were catching the new staple and keeping the paper from moving.

When it jams, what code does it give? Let's start there. I too had one "one off" in a print shop. It is gone now. Larger dealers told me they called the plockmatic stuff "revenue killers".

well yes, provide some info on the jam code...most engineers are a litlle afraid for the plocks, but in fact it's a real stable machine. Did it stape before it jammed? Where is the jammed paper exatcly? etc...

Sorry I did not respond sooner, I believe I figured the problem to be the wire harness going to the first roller feed in motor .THEY where able to feed manually but not from the copier end.The feed in motor was staying on too long causing the sheet to buckle in too far, once I clipped off all the wire ties from the motor and sensor back to the board it ran well . A bit of a weird one . Thanks for the response

As I recall, there is a bar right by the staplers that has a "spring loaded sensor and bracket" on it. The instructions will have you make sure what would be the pivot screw is tight but in my experience, a little loose so that the spring could hold it in position worked best. When tight, it would get pushed down slightly and the stapled sets would stay in the staple position as if it had not completed the staple function. But it sounds like you have it working so all is well.

You may need to first remove all old lubricant that may have congealed and become more glue than lubricant. To do so you will need to remove the clincher bar (see section 3.4.17). You may also need to enter service mode and clear the counter 2

Swap the staplers front to rear to see if the problem moves.
