    Ricoh MP C4000 drivers problem

    Hello!
I own a Ricoh Aficio MP C4000. I have to print some very colorful A3 pages (plain paper / 90mg). The problem is that one edge of the paper is not printed well (lots of white dots appears or white areas). If I print it using bypas and OHP (Transparent Paper set) the print goes perfect. However I need to print it using Tray 2 (because I have to make lots of such copies and on bypas the 90mg paper goes frequently misfeed).

Some time ago (8-9 years), when a tech installed the drivers for me, while printing there was an option on my computer named "print speed" containing three options fast, medium, slow (different other than gradation).

However after reinstalling the operating system I was unable to find that option with any of the drivers (rpcs, pcl6, pcl5c) downloaded from the website or uainf my original CD.

How can I set the speed to slow?

Tried to set paper weight to coated, medium thick etc on tray 2 but it is automatically detected as not matching.

    What can I do?
    Thank you so much!

Call a trained technician, probably your very old machine needs some parts replaced.

White dots in the white area? Can you post a pic? As stated, this is an old machine. To run slower set as thick 3. However, I don't believe that is your solution.

The MP C4000 was introduced just over 14 years ago. Speed selection from within the driver most likely the RPCS driver which Ricoh discontinued support for that driver at least years ago. Windows 7 was the last Windows version for which Ricoh released a RPSC driver for the MP C4000. If you really want to try it, it is available on Softpedia. Just a moment...

Considering the age of the MP C4000, if you are wanting optimum color printing I would recommend replacing the dinosaur. If you insist on trying to make do with the C4000, be aware that this model has a problem with intense color offsetting in the PCU, the amount of toner applied to the drum can become too much for the blade to remove what does not get transferred to the ITB. You need to make sure that the machine is fully up to PM specifications. Once that has been done, make the SP settings on pages 1-9 of the attached. Part of this will slightly reduce the amount of toner in the developers thus reducing the amount of toner being put on the drum. The rest will increase the amount of toner transfer from the drum to the ITB to compensate for the lower amount of toner on the drum. The end result is that the offsetting is eliminated. Also since toner is put on the drums, less toner is used and there is less toner going into the waste toner bottle.

You should attach sample photos if you want more solutions to your problem, however in my opinion I advise against printing full pages on paper that is not thick and using the bypass, the speed will be adjusted by the machine.
