Co Inquiry about sharp series 4

I would like to know if in these models there is a special menu to change the density of the developer like in the series 3 which was code 80-2

Sorry but Sharp no longer allows access to these codes. Not for a long time now.

I mean, they never did. It was supposed to be a secret. But techs like to talk, and knowledge is disseminated throughout our world. What can we do?

I'm sure they still exist, but until one of those techs talk, then some of us are SOL.

Although, except for one use with correcting maintenance meters (because of parts swap), I don't really see the point too much.

When 80-2 was well known, we use to use DV and sometimes toner from older machines or completely different ( read analogue copiers ) and make it work. With varying results, sometimes the image quality was good to great but the dv would only last 40K-80K. Sometimes the image quality would be ok to bearly passable but the dv life would be comparble to what the service manual said. Any of you old heads remember the Sharp SD-2060/2260/3062? We would use SD-4085 toner in combination with SF-9800 DV. More recently We used SD-860 DV in the AR-M/MX-M 550-620-700 with OEM toner, the DV life we would get if I remember correctly was about 120K-150K the image quality was ok to good. This is what I suspect our OP friend from Mexicalli is trying to do.

Times like this, I remember I'm probably one of the more younger, but more experienced techs in this site.

Never dealt with Analog Sharps. Had 1 analog Canon copier stop by, and my boss started sharing his knowledge on it's engineering.
    Oldest models I've worked on are... the ARM355/455, ARM550, ARM207/257s, MX4500/4501/6200/6201...

Yet, these are the new models for some of the old heads here, lol.

I got a feeling you and I are about the same age, while you might of been working on the AR/M355 M550 etc as new machines I started with the previous generation machines that happen to be analogues. So is the life of an indy used dealer. The first digital machines I touched were Konicas before the merger 7050/7150 and 7040's.

We literally have a few copiers out there as old as you. Yikes!
