    Developer

Has anybody tried using sharp color developer in a ES2505ac ?
I did and the color matches great. and the toner seems to add at appropriate times.
I have to run it in shop for longer runs to see if it is good or not.
So far so good. Only 5 grams more in sharp bag, so I left some out.

Interesting....but why? all toner or developer is not the same. Really, why did this ever occur to you?

Typically the motivation is desperation over very limited parts on-hand. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

          Or insanely high OEM costs.

Following this. I'm curious to see how this turns out. Sounds like something I'd try in the warehouse and not out in the field.

Was there anything wrong with the setup? Were they new dev units or did you clean some out and put them back in?

Typically an eS2505AC developer change is just that: powder only. We do rebuilds on the units, as necessary (bearings, seals, augers, gears), but usually do not change whole units. Units are cost prohibitive ($1K ea).

It's easy to evaluate the results of the stir. On the display it should read "1.6" for a successful stir.

I think I'd like to see one run in the office (or close nearby where I could watch it) for a while, to be sure it wasn't going to overtone or undertone. I believe that the 2505AC toner also contains developer spike, so it will be interesting to see how the two developers mix. Theoretically, the original developer might be fully replaced with spike, if it were in the machine long enough. =^..^=

Thanks for the follow up. How does the developer compare costwise? =^..^=
