You mentioned that you have been setting the dr blade gap to .3mm on the 1035/2045 machines.
Are you reducing the gap with .3mm? Have you tried this with the MP3500 series?
One of the reasons I'm asking is I've had a couple of MP3500's overload the cover over the mag roller where there was too much pressure from the buildup and ended up 'scraping' the toner off of the mag roller. This resulted in presenting a bare spot on the mag roller to the drum.
