Technicians are scarce here in my place they all flew to other countries to earn a living. Sellers of copiers here don't give the manuals when you purchase a machine from them, they just promise they will send a technician when you need them which is a lie.
I'm planning to buy a canon ir6000 series to upgrade from these old machines, you know, beside this GR1700 I got these five 1980's Savin 880 using liquid toners and dispersant, yes they're still run but lots of maintenance. My old technician had just past away I was left alone. Had to know more things about the business.
