Good day,Guys.. I troubleshoot one unit canon IR 2018 for almost one week now, the problem is that there is no image if you make a copy either from adf or in platten, but if I make a test print,the quality of copy is good,I replace already the main board,and almost all the circuit board but the problem is the same,anybody have an idea about this, I need your help guys. thanks a lot

what about Error codes??
Did u check your- Contact image sensor (CIS)
- Check whether the optical system (contact sensor/white panel/copyboard glass) is free from scratches, stain, foreign objects.
- Check whether the contact sensor unit moves smoothly. Check whether the rails are free from dirt.
- Check whether the contact sensor is not flickering.
- Check whether the optical system is free from dew condensation.
Is the Carriage moving
<Service Mode>
- Check whether various adjustment values are the same as those printed on the service label.
- Check whether the output between CIS channels has been corrected.
(Service mode>TEST MODE>"2"(SCANTEST)>"1")
- Check whether the read position has been adjusted properly. (Stream reading: Only when the ADF is installed)
(Service mode>TEST MODE>"2"(SCANTEST)>"3"(SHEET POS ADJ))
- Check whether the error has been cleared.
(Service mode>CLEAR>ERR

Blank copies are occurring from the glass and feeder. Internal test prints and print jobs are fine.
Check or replace image processor PCB = FM3-3320-000-iR2018/2022/2022N
for FM3-3319-000-iR2022K/2022i/2025/2025i/2030/2030i/2018i

After replacing the image processor PCB with a new one, input the all value printed on the service label affixed to the rear cover.
Make the following adjustments:
- Correction of output between CIS channels
1) Enter the service mode.
Sequentially press the User Mode key " ", 2 key, 8 key, and User Mode
key " " on the operation panel.
2) Using the arrow keys on the operation panel, display "TEST MODE".
3) Press the OK key.
4) Press the 2 key. "SCAN TEST" appears.
5) Press the 1 key.
After completion of the above steps, contact sensor output correction will be
performed and parameters will be set automatically.
- Read position adjustment (Stream reading: Only when the ADF is installed)
1) Enter the service mode.
Press the User Mode key " ", 2 key, 8 key, User Mode key " " on the
operation panel of the host machine.
2) Using the arrow keys on the operation panel, display "TEST MODE".
3) Press the OK key.
4) Press the 2 key. "SCAN TEST" appears.
5) Press the 3 key. "SHEET POS ADJ" appears.
The optical system starts scanning. Several seconds later, automatic adjustment
of the reading position finishes and "OK" appears.
If automatic adjustment fails, "NG" appears. Perform the following procedure:
Clean the white roller of the DADF and the document glass of the host machine,
and then retry auto adjustment.

I have the same problem.
Nothing helped.Blank copy,but self print is OK.When mashine start scanner cant see its home posision.Grinding for about 10 sec.and go READY.There is no error on dysplay.

when u open ADF and hit the print button u are saying Scanner does not move or see Home Position -
& u hear Grinding noise/
if u pull Scanner all the way over to the right/ then hit print button- what happens ??
if that Scanner does not move either way after button is pressed and noise is present / u have a clock pulse voltage issue with MOTOR**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**Comment

Things u need to check are the Cables & Motor
have u checked the supply voltage to the Motor ????????????
Stepping Motors make noise when bad or low voltage supply>>>>

This ir2018 is without ADF.
When copier is switch on scanner start moving normal and go to left but do not stop to the home position and start grinding.
After about 10sec. grinding noise stop and mashine go to ""ready" state.
You can printing from menu normal.When attemp to copy scanner starts, go to about half sheet and goes again to home but again cant see it and grinding.The scaned result is blank sheet.
In my opinion scan motor is working well but dont stop when is needed.
I allready check motor on another ir2018 and its OK
Flat cabel conecting scan matrix to the image reader is OK too.
I notised(on working ir2018) when disconect PHOTO INTERRUPTER, TLP1243 WG8-5696-000
(its only one there under the glas) scanner start mouving to the righ (when initialising) and start grinding when go to the end.
On mashine with problem its the same -conected or not PHOTO INTERRUPTER scanner start go to left and grinding.Comment

If u swapped motors/ what about the cable from reader pcb that goes to motor
do u have a circuit diagram to check voltage to motor signal/
if u have a Fax Board connected/ disconnect and see what happens
a voltage drop to motor will cause a stepping motor to make noise
does that lamp go on when scanner moves out of HP

FK2-5356-000 POWER SUPPLY ASS'Y
When I changed it the problem is disappear.

hey guys im kinda late on this thred but i have a ir 2022i that is giving me the same problem the first thing i did was replace the image processor pcb then updated the system softwareto the latest one after that i keep getting this E247 constantly but if i put back in the old pcb board i get no error but the problem still remains the same i can print but no copy or scan can you guys point me in the right direction plz thanks in advanceComment

E247=Counter Memory PCB ISSUE/Error in SRAM on Main Controller PCB and Counter Memory PCB.
E245, E246, E247, E354 and E355
These are error codes not found in service materials that when encountered can be difficult to troubleshoot.
An error has been detected in the result of verifying the soft counter reading stored on the Counter Memory PCB and SRAM
Hope u have not been swapping pcb's
The Counter Memory PCB is a matched board with the Serial Number PCB and cannot be swapped with one from any other equipment. Doing so may change the error code and will not correct the problem and will certainly add to confusion, thus increasing downtime.
If replacing the Counter Memory PCB does not fix an E245, E246 or E247 code, suspect a failed Main
Controller PCB (put back the original Counter Memory PCB when replacing the Main Controller

I took all the parts off the old image processor pcb and put it on the new image processor pcb that is when i started getting the e247 error but if i put the old one back in it comes up but still copies blank but will print fine im kinda lost now and not sure what to do in this case any other suggestionsComment
