You might try changing the static eliminator strip visible in your picture.

I've seem this particular problem on a FS-532. When it's working normally after every 3 or 4 pages the elevator tray goes down, up, down, up. When the static eliminator becomes worn, intermittently you might see the elevator tray go down, down (no ups). When the gap between the top of the tray and the exit path becomes too great, the paper starts to mis-stack, even falling on the floor. Why? Certainly something to do with static electricity ... but no, I don't know why.

    Do I have pictures?

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Hello, I also have this problem with a 1052. The shelf is lowered but not raised again (as normal). Was it the static eliminator for you?

Check the small LED board that is mounted on the front and shines a beam across to the rear. The LED tends to have bad solder joints and will cause this. Or it can also be mis-aligned and not directed at rear sensor.
