KM-8030 J62 jam code

Who else is having trouble with J62 jam codes on these machines. We hvae some that are doing it out of the box and don't catch it till it hits customer site then of course it's a real problem. Tech hasn't been able to isolate what is causing it.

Looking for someone strong in the ways of the Force here!!

We had a few of these on our in-house machine this morning. The user was feeding 65 lb. paper stock from tray #1. It pulled from tray #1 OK, but wouldn't invert for face-down delivery. I looked for a face-up output setting in the driver (which may have solved the problem) but no such luck. The heavy paper stock would flip the leading rear corner going into the duplex tray almost every time, and stall at DUPFSW.

My solution was to print the job on the CS-C4035E from the bypass (heavy paper), and output to the top tray face-down (doesn't have to invert). It fed the 300 no problem. I don't suppose that helps you very much.

You might consider a paper weight issue though...

Well I will check but I believe it's pretty much standard 20-22 lb paper that is being used.

There used to be J60 too but he has done some work and replaced a few things.

Will get back.

Meantime anybody else gots ideas???????

I had this problem a while back with a 8030, nothing would solve the jamming problem until I read on another forum about adjusting the fuser speed to -20 in simulation (U053). The machine has now made over 500,000 copies without the problem returning. Hope this helps.

The only other thing that I do on all of these models is to reposition the Gate Solenoid on the front of the transport section. I remove it and screw it back in the lower screw hole so you get maximum throw out of it.

I tried to wide the gap of the stay reverse feed assembly.

Unscrew the unit and place a piece of tape (+/-1mm) on the rear and the front side of the unit, on the exit side of the machine so that the unit tilts over to the right side.

I tried it already with a few machines and so far so good.

Check your power.
I had two with the same problem and one was fixed by replacing the refeed roller in the duplex, the othe had low power problems.
