I can remember there was a problem with the Dimm earlier with the machine where they wanted you to take out and reseat the dimms, but I thought all of this was taken care of with a later version of firmware.

I flash the firmware again.... maybe it was a bad flash

          we'll see from there....

I will keep this update! ..until a good solution is found..

          thanks

There was a problem with the gold plating on the dimm cards for the op panel and the main pwb. I had to change the dimm cards on every 3050 we had. there is a bulletin out now with the new Dimm part numbers

I looked at one today and the other tech replaced dims on the main bd and the control panel. The dims were the white not gold or yellow. Still having the problem. removed the control panel reset the dems and connectors. I installed the panel and guess what? Black screen hmm , so I messed with the wires and noticed that if you set panel low the wires are pulled down away from the machine. I reset the wires and presto its working. In other words, I think instead of boards and dimms its back to the wires, tyraps and the wires just being streatched from the manufacture. remember the 6030/8030 with the laser code and all it was , was the tyraps being so tight it caused codes? well

I have seen the problem you describe, texchar, and it is caused by the white ribbon cable to the op panel rubbing up against the plastic op panel covers in the rear. I usually try to put a gentle arc into the ribbon cable so it doesn't press so hard against the cover. The symptoms that I got were not CFxxx codes though. I got a frozen or blank display, and if you move the accessibility lever it will start to work.

Having said all that, I don't think that is the poblem that pete is having.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                  1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                  2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                  3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                  4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                  5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Bad op panel dimm or bad memory dimm. I lean towards memory dimm, myself, had plenty of oddball issues cause by flaky memory.
