Yeah many times firmware solves all kinds of wierd problems. Sometimes I think it's not even from the update itself but rather from just overwriting the old one to give it that little kick in the butt.Originally Posted by cmpelser

Thank you everyone for all your ideas. The firmware did the trick. As soon as I looked at the readme on the firmware NIB V.418 I knew this was it. This firmware for the DSC428 resolved the issue of not being able to scan back to vista machines. Thanks again for all your help.
Sorry if I offended you cmpelser, honestly I didnt even see that page. Wish I had, it would have saved me a lot of trouble. Plus eveyone here wanted to insist it was not the copier.
