Make em if you can keep em

It's that time of year again. Time for people to make all of their New Year's resolutions. Most people, except for those with the will power to follow through, will fail at completing them. With that in mind, I decided to make some that I can't help but keep.

I resolve to break or damage a part I am putting in, at least once.

I resolve to lose an important e-clip or spring that I don't have a replacement for, at least twice.

I resolve to walk around with toner smudges on my face at least 3 or 4 times.

I resolve to lose a screwdriver and other tool to be determined later.

I resolve to ruin shirts that are not black.

I resolve to piss off my manager at least 4 times.

I resolve to call tech support and ask a stupid question.

I resolve to totally disassemble something that was a simple fix.

I resolve to repost some old jokes that have been posted before.

      hah:...
Amazing how similar minds think alike.

I get up every morning and start by saying I'm going to do this, and this, and that, and get that project finished.
An at the end of the day/week I have done nothing any where near what I promised myself I would do. Which makes me feel crappy low and so dishearten with myself.

So now I get up every morning an run through the same list but add the word "not" to each item. I'm not going to that , I'm not going to get this done. I will make this excuse to my self so I can't do that, and so on. By the end of the day/week I'm extremely proud that I set out to do exactly what I said I would do. Which was nothing. This is life changing. I now feel happy with myself that I set up goals and achieved those goals with amazing accuracy.... Hey I stop lying to myself about getting things done, an so I feel happy....

disclaimer :. There is only one problem with the above. It doesn't allow for 3rd party person which is "the missus". She has a unique way of making me get things done.

Sorry, fairy tale over. back to reality, work...

I hope I can be a tad more productive this year.

I hope everyone enjoy the festive season.

All the best to everyone for the new year ahead....

Fix, I like the fact that your resolutions document a copy tech's average day over the last 30 some odd years............

Yeah the disclaimer kicks my ass too!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, I resolve to block some uniformed poster (dumbass poster like aaB1), and at a later date choose to view their posts, just to confirm that I had a good reason to block them in the first place.............

I resolve to not commit to any totally unrealistic resolutions that I don't have a snowball's chance of keeping.

I must say that your list is compilation of totally realistic expectations. Mrs. blackcat found it very funny. I'm always surprised when she demonstrates that she has been listening to my mundane daily prattle.

I think that is one of the reasons that the hotline takes so long to pick up the line. When I've been sitting on perpetual hold for 45 minutes or more, I quite often think of that one thing that just might fix it ... and hang up. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Definitely been there. In the hour KMBS had me on hold, I thought of something, got in truck and drove to shop, went to warehouse and stripped a part off a machine, drove back and had machine working before they picked up.
