That needs to go every day. I remember one of my fellow techs that was so bad at this he never cleaned that in months.
His car was a mobile dump. I used to refuse ride alongs with him because he refused to clean it out.
He got really upset when you offer to clean it for him.
That is noting in comparison.
It use to happen to me when things got to busy.
I now carry my breakfast/lunch tin and a glass bottle of pure water.
No more packets and cans or cigarette boxes to be found.
Funny thing i feel younger now than then!?!?
I did a ridealong many years ago with a Sweda tech in Seattle. His back seat was piled to the bottom of the windows with trash. Looked like he never missed a chance to drive through a fast food place. Sweda was a world wide cash register company.
I don't mind a little "organized" clutter, but when you throw food rubbish in the mix, it freaks me out big time. Clean out your car man, that's gross. I live with messy house-mates so I may or may not have PTSD about this kind of thing.
I use the bags that I get from grocery shopping in the work car, and put all the random crap in them. Just hook the handle of the bag on the passenger side seat's armrest, if there is one, it will work fine. I toss them when I'm filling the tank, with the prevalence of self service stations and the current price of gas (petrol) you're ripping yourself off if you don't take advantage of the services at your disposal when you are there.
Um, most places out here at this part of the periphery can still can use plastic bags, so your mileage may vary.
This thread belong to the one below. Btw, it's your car and at least you get it cleaned up every week. Most of the techs i know with company cars, probably never clean them.
Re: You know you are a tech because...
you can eat cheese burger, hold the drink and shift gears with one hand, email with your blackberry in the other hand, and drive with your knees going 65 down the freeway.
only to find out when you walk in the customers office that you have a mustard/mayo/ketchup stain on your tie and shirt because the flipper at Mc D know that you would be five mile from the restaurnt before you discovered that they gave youaregular hamburger with extra mayo, extra mustard, and extra ketchup!
maybe wrong thread?
THE ONLY THING FOR EVIL TO TRIUMPH IS FOR GOOD MEN TO DO NOTHING..........edmund burke

We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
The medication helps though...
I have a stack of crazy goth/horror punk and metal CDs (Murderdolls, Michale Graves, Wednesday 13, Dimmu Borgir, Dethklok, GWAR, Charlie Drown, Behemoth) all in the passenger seat and floorboard...which probably is really interesting when I have to loan my car to 1 or 2 of the more wholesome ladies that work here.
"In a cruel and evil world, being cynical can allow you to get some entertainment out of it."
Passenger seat contains a clipboard holding my mileage log sheets and a pen, floor contains 12 rocks from the hotel in Chicago when I went to training and was away from my family for 12 days, because I'm a sentimental prick, and I haven't put them in my garden yet because I'm astonishingly lazy when it comes to anything that's not work.
But the car is a lease, so I have to *try* to take better care of it than my previous vehicle.
