    Huh

Well, I recently got discharged from the mothership.
I guess this is going to sting like the dickens for a while.
But no big deal, I'll get better, I always do. And when I'm done with this I'll be back if you'll still have me.
    But for now,

Hate to hear bad news. Best wishes. You don't have to be fixing anything to hang out here. Still have the knowledge.

Not overly good news there Gene....
You could always become an independent Tech.
It's a tad harder being indy at first, but you slowly get use to it.

You'll have a lot more time to hang out on your favourite websites...

        Re: Huh

        So sorry to hear it.

But you won't be able to stay away. There are always copiers in need of fixing. And never enough competent techs.
Let us know when you've landed that perfect job. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

What happened!? Is business slowing down over there?
          That really sucks.
Honestly though, hope you find a job that's even better than a copy tech.

I like your attitude and positive thinking for ahead. In my mother country the lottery moto is " If you don't have a ticket, you don't have a chance ". After a little time of reflection, get back sending out those resume's. Who knows, maybe someone here may be intrested.

Gene, you will not be able to stay away from CTN (trust me, I've been retired 3 months now); something will materialize, and you'll be living the dream. It's time you spread your wings (like those eaglets). 👍

Best I can tell, it was kind of a feature of a rather successful local independent dealership being sold to a well known and successful national company that supports a different manufacturer's equipment. Out here on the periphery, that means way less work to do (loosing national accounts and getting people to change from the equipment we supported for decades to the new equipment is actually a bigger deal than I thought), and as such there was not enough work to justify a tech in this area.
They were actually moving machines out here and I was hoping I could wait this out until there was enough to do again, but that didn't work.
I may be full of crap though.

No Gene, you are not full of crap. The big fish have been eating the small fish (as always), but they eventually become too big for their britches and end up diversifying. The customers will find out soon enough that the big 'fish' doesn't give the same service that a smaller, more focused dealer, can provide.
ps-glad to see you are still lurking.

That happened here in Fort Wayne a larger company bought out a smaller one that deals with a different brand. In fact they bought them out, and refused to honor all the service contracts unless they bought brand new equipment from them.
