    Name the best production copier, any brand

    Hi techs !

    After reading a long Ricoh rant post earlier, i cant help but wonder what would be the best PRODUCTION copier out there and why ?

    Im fairly new to the bizz and by no means a technician, i am a key user in a college and have only worked with the Aficio MP5501 and i am currently using a Pro 8110s.
    Situation is an average of 4 mil/year/machine and i have two machines set up. (and a mpc4503 for the colour prints)

    My opinion is hard to make, the taurus was way more robust but once it passed 6mil copies the need for maintenance became way more frequent. BUT i was able to do most of the basic things myself (switch out rollers, cleaning web etc).
    The baron allows me to print more versatile jobs and with greater quality but being the pilot project i cannot compare - it had alot of kinks and hitches when they set it up two years and change ago. And the maintenance is alot more in depth/lenghty.

    Side note: i have no say whatsoever in purchases, this isnt an assessment

      Konica Minolta Press 1250.

      Stretch the PM intervals up to 2Mil with vacuum service every 500K. Not to familiar with machines that can go that far with out bothering to much.
      Can do a whopping 2Mil a month if you push it hard. Can live up to 80Mil.
      Have one that did 13 500 000 clicks in almost 2 years.

      Nice and low running cost.

      Or you can burn thru a Konica Minolta 754e or 2 a year. Super easy machine.
      Even with a booklet maker they keep up.

          If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

                  Very interesting, 80 mil lifetime is pretty huge compared to my current and previous setup. The Aficio was written off at 16mil per machine.

                  The paper bank looks impressive on that Konica - up to 18k is alot. Atm i have 4.5k stocked with 4*500 sheet trays for various finishing options (the teachers love colours in their books) so i have to restock the big trays VERY often.
