Van ramps?

Any suggestions on ramps which would allow a copier to be rolled up and into a Ford E250 Van? I looked online and saw a few different kinds that looked they would work but wasn't sure about the length, etc? Most hold up to 600lbs. Has anyone here used them or something else?

Would be great not to have to take off base for first floor deliveries.

Check out a local motorcycle dealer they usually carry ramps that can handle heavy bikes.
You may have to modify them a little but it is a start.

I don't think you would want to push a 600 pound MFP up a ramp (2 feet height?) - the ramps would have to be a great length to be able to push MFP into the van.
I would suggest the folding type of gurney that when pushed against the van, the legs fold under and wheels on bottom of cart ease MFP into van. Also, there are lift type carts that will raise MFP to height of van that can then be rolled into van.

I didn't mean I would need to push a 600lb machine. Mostly machines like Biz C224, etc. Under 200 lbs. Anything more than that I would rent a liftgate truck.

I use a 6 x 10 trailer with a ramp door for all my big machines delivery. I try the pick up truck route with a folding 6 foot ramp it was to much weight and not safe unloading the equipment. Mongo

Have you checked into the lift units used handicapped individuals in power chair? They can certainly handle the weight. Roll the copier onto the platform, strap in down and lift it in.

I use a 6 x 10 trailer with a ramp door for all my big machines delivery. I try the pick up truck route with a folding 6 foot ramp it was to much weight and not safe unloading the equipment. Mongo

Really nice when you need to deliver a production machine with main frame, upstream LCIT, cover interposer, folding unit and booklet finisher with trimmer. You can get everything in one load.

I went with the enclosed trailer because of the price and insurance, plus I can delivery multi machines at the same time.

The wheelchair lift sounds great! God willing....planning on retiring in next few years so didn't want to put a lot of $$$ out.

I ended up ordering a 12 ft wheelchair ramp, $500. Will let you know how it works once I get it. After talking to the manufacturer the longer ramp should make it easier with only a 12 degree angle. From ground to floor of cargo van is 30".

Like I mentioned in earlier post I sell mostly 20-36 ppm models weighing less than 200 lbs so hopefully this will work. Heavier production models I rent liftgate truck.

I will report back on how it works.

Check your vertical clearances at the SHORTEST point (Usually at the door catches)!! Last company I worked for had a 3/4 ton van with a lift gate on it, and 99% of the machines loaded in just fine...but if we had one with a single pass ADF (Canon iRAdv C5255, etc) we'd have to remove the doc feeder to get it into the van, and reattach it on site.

The ramps have been working great! I have even used them a few times right from the van to top level of customers steps. These 12 ft ramps are one of the best "tool" I have bought for the business. Can't tell you how many deliveries I have made by myself.
