Great topic!
I know a guy who has bought three Bitcoin miner/computer machines. I do not fully understand it but I know these machines use a lot of electricity.
I have seen Youtube videos of hundreds of BitCoin miner machine in one shed in China. And then the camera pans out to reveal five sheds.

It is hard to spend Bitcoins on real things.
Supposedly the returns have been fabulous but depending on when you got in you might be late to the party.
There was a news story where BitCoin was hacked!

It is basically a casino. If you are thinking about it and can not stand to lose $10k walking around money, 151%, of course, it is not safe! Do not be a schmuck!
20 years ago I was at the great casino of the American stock market. I lost $60,000.00 USD in two days on a stock called Broadcom. I was margin called and forced to sell. You know how long that takes to pay that off at $500.00 per month! 10 years!

I wish I could remember the author of the article but there was a report recently of a guy who made a mistake and to "clean up his mess" he deleted a ton of data related to bitcoins costing a lot of folks a lot of money. No thanks. I know for a fact that there are ways of making crypto currency work and make real money but that's too much time and capital for my tastes.
Edit: found the article.

My attitude is that BTC trading is safer then any other type of trading. Today it becomes even simple thanks to the different tools I use for it. My favorite one is https://3commas.io/blog/best-cryptoc...o-tracker-apps providing enough information about main details of trading. And bringing good profit, as a result.Comment

I was looking into it,still dont fully understand it. From what I learned is that bitcoin itself is unhackable, the exchange where your bitcoin is stores is hackable. So to protect yourself you are supposed to transfer your bitcoin as soon as it hits your account,to a electronic wallet. I have bought one,not used it yet and not sure if I am gonna invest in bitcoin or not. The electronic wallet looks pretty much like a USB stick. You set up elaborate passwords ect. It was a while back when I was looking int this so I dont remember all the details.Comment

The safer The business is, the fewer incomes it generates. Before starting a business, decide for yourself if you will risk it or not. This is a decisive moment that will stay in the long run. Cryptocurrency indeed is a precarious business. Look at the dynamics of bitcoin and see how unpredictable it was in the past. In general, I suggest you two sick financial help. On other hand, Bitcoin is super controvert, many countries are thinking about banning it due to the impossibility to control transactions. How to invest such sums of money in something that can be closed tomorrow? Better buy some stocks on investous.com and earn a bit of extra money, thank risk with crypto.Comment

Re: Who is investing in Bit Coins-
I would, but there is a ethics problem I have that need to resolve firsy, for me. Which goes along for all asset class and our view on value.
I earn wages for me in exchange for time to provide service. Wage is a human thing, since when can machine earn wages for who? That's first question
And the bitcoin value has hyper increased, due to what? And if it's so volatile, and driven by interest and some odd algorithm hidden under the BS mountain?
The value is dictated by belief of no sound foundation. Might as well be Beetlejuice and Santa Clause, if you believe it, it's real?
I may as well put my poop on the market.
It smells,it's Rare, decomposes quickly. Happens not so often...

Re: Who is investing in Bit Coins-
Investing in bitcoins is very dangerous. Cryptocurrency is the most unstable currency in the world. It can make someone rich, and others turn into beggars. With the development of the Internet, there are many ways to make money; unfortunately, many are pretty risky. Recently I decided to do swing trading. Before I started trading, I was looking for information on forums and other resources. Many users recommended I read the information on this site http://timthomas.co to learn the best strategies. The strategies were invented a long time ago by professional economists, so I trust them.Comment

Re: Who is investing in Bit Coins-
Ponzi Schemes
Market manipulation
etc
To be honest, Cryptocurrency is a big scam, but then so is fiat. USA has a larger economy than China, yet China has a higher value of currency internally issued when looking at a dollar-renminbi trade off. That effectively means that although the physical assets and value of goods and services produced by the US is greater than China, China is technically richer than the USA.
How is that? Its an example of china gaming our current fiat system. They take their currency and use to invest externally through private entities associated with the CCP. Western nations take their currency loan it internally for internal investment. This is the key difference. If you are investing internally its a closed system. If you use it to buy external assets, then you are gaining value from nothing. This is of course on a macro scale. In western nations the people that benefit from this system internally are those in the financial institutions, that literally get given money for knowing people. In a normal transaction Bank lends money to reputable investment company who makes wise investment decisions and thus through productive allocation of resources increases overall wealth of the nation. However, in modern transactions Bank lends money to several middlemen before it reaches said investment company, and all these middle men make money from doing nothing. Its a form of corruption. Both a private and public sector based corruption as the public and private sector are interlinked through bribes, nepotism etc.Comment

Re: Who is investing in Bit Coins-
Perhaps bitcoin is gradually becoming a digital version of gold. And bitcoin can act as a protective asset. As investors are now trying to save capital due to super-soft monetary policy and growing geopolitical risks, funds can go not only to gold, but also to BTC. Basically, gold investment is considered a more promising position. Immediately after the rise of the coin above $10,000, investors began to send their assets to exchanges. But further growth of Bitcoin value and together with Ethereum will continue.Comment
