But it is the extreme liberals that the talk jocks rail against, the ones they think all liberals want to emulate, but in truth don't.
So are you saying that conservatives aren't cerebral, that we can't think for ourselves. I agree that some liberals are just to the left of center. Unfortunately, let us see who are the leaders of your party....Howard Dean, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Joe Biden.... shall I go on. Do you think that they are just left of center? And how did they get in power? Someone had to put them in power. Wasn't conservatives.

Did you happen to hear how a liberal government official (who supported Obama) used her office to ilegally investigate Joe the Plumber. The Columbus Dispatch - Local/State.

Ayers is not a former terrorist. He has never repented of the attacks that he made on this country. As for being respected, by who? The corrupt Chicago government and liberals.

Let's talk about the money. Obama first said that he would only use public money, just like McCain. Then he reneged on that and started fund raising. He raised over $600 million, I guarantee it all did not come from private people. Follow that money. You will see where Obama stands.

David sounds like a Professor at Berkley, again paragraphs of "words just words". He dismisses William Ayers as a Model Professor , forget about trying to kill Police officers and a Domestic Terrorist which as late as 2004 said we had 9/11 coming to us and what they did to us we do all around the world. The same guy who called our Troops killers in a time of war.

Barack Obama will continue with Stem Cell research and see it all the way.

Barack Obama will reinstall the Fairness Doctrine to eliminate all competition so David and his sheep see things one way.

Barack Obama will close down Gitmo Prison camp for the most dangerous terrorists in the world and bring them to trial in not a Military Prison but in Courts in the USA! where left wing scum will try to rehabilitate them on your dime!

Barack Obama will cut our Military like Clinton did and make us vulnerable to a terrorist attack. He will also see to it that the FBI and CIA get cut. How about homeland Security? Don't go there man!

Barack Obama's tax plans will be a total bust!! Only the people on or near Welfare will benifit and if you have a household income of a $120k a year, guess what?? Bend over baby because you will get yours.

I would like to have a beer with you and him. Made alot of very good points. He sounds like he is bitterly clinging to his guns and religion. I say welcome to the club.

            Same old same old

Laserman you are still focusing on the irrelevant. Ayers doesn't matter. What he did, the fact that he hasn't repented, doesn't matter. Just so much Fox news blather.

Jeez, I didn't think this would be so much fun, but some of you guys really bought into the con. Check out Harold Meyerson - You Report, We Marginalize - washingtonpost.com

I thought it really said it like it is. So much for the liberal main stream media. Fox is main stream, right? Or is it just an extension of talk radio and on the fringe? You tell me.

One of the things the talk jocks and Fix is good for, besides keeping you pissed off enough to stay tuned, is generating fear. A democrat in the White House, a democrat majority in Congress - for sure we're either going to go socialist or become a Muslim nation, Obama's going to take away our guns (gun sales in Arkansas are soaring) and talk radio will lose their first amendment rights. Sounds goofy writing that.

Never said conservatives couldn't be cerebral, but you can't get that impression listening to talk radio callers. Nor can I get that corresponding with a number of conservatives I know. Now, Reagan Republicans are different, though I don't agree with some of their policy beliefs either. Toward the end of his administration, Reagan didn't either.

When we did a stupid thing and put Marines in Lebanon, 256 Marines died. Reagan pulled our guys out and made zero effort to hunt down and take out those responsible, setting in place the belief that the bad guys could bloody our nose and we'd cut and run, but you blame Clinton for starting that ball rolling.

Clinton followed that dumb move by listening to the State Department and not giving our guys in Somalia the armor they needed to be safe and effective. Had nothing to do with the size of our military, just poor planning.

Obama's fund raising is just another red hearing flaunted by the talk jocks to keep you pissed of. Obama won because McCain had nothing to run on. Four more years of feed the rich and they'll feed us, free markets will control themselves to the benefit of all Americans does not a sound platform make. The majority of voters recognized this, while the rest of the voters wallowed in fear and concentrated on the irrelevant.

Fear mongering and disinformation is the master game plan engineered by Karl Rove and used quite effectively to put Bush in the White House and hand Congress to the Republicans. But it didn't work for McCain because Bush and the Republicans made bad choices and adhered to a misguided ideology that created the mess we're sittingin right now. Sure, they got enough democrats on board to make that happen, which is why I see this as a bi-partisan failure.

Gitmo should be closed and those kept there run through the court system, as is the American way.

The military is bloated and wasteful. Much of what passes for decision making is based on what is good for this Congressman or that. Procurement needs to be reined in, logic and real needs should be paramount. Cutting spending, how about sensible spending. The Republican majority in Congress proved they weren't up to the task. Not sure a democrat majority is up to it either. We'll just have to wait and see.

As to stem cell research, I'm all for it. I don't buy the concept (not in the Bible) that life begins at conception. This concept is relatively new anyway. A full third of all pregnancies end in spontanious abortion, making God, i.e. nature the most prolific of abortionists. Doesn't make sense does it?

Got to go. Work to do.

            Have fun with this.

Just watched the video. This is so bad as to be good fodder for the late night comedians. I don't know where to start. This guy is so off base - way too much to even begin to address.

I major in economics in college - learned a lot about basic misconceptions. Facts are that higher taxes on capital gains has zero effect on investment. As long as the taxes are low enough that investors make a profit, they will continue investing. Likewise higher taxes on the top wage earners has no net negative effect, while lowering taxes on them has no net positive effect on the economy. Same with big business. As long as the taxes remain low enough for them to make a profit, higher taxes has no net negative effect. And the belief that they will just pass the cost on is a myth. The are constrained by market competition.

What is real is that two thirds of the economy is driven by consumer spending. You let the middle class keep more of their money and they will use it to buy the goods and services they need to support their families. Basic economics 101. As unemployment rises, consumer spending declines creating a recession, causing suppliers to cut back, laying off more workers - you get the picture.

And spreading the wealth - that is what government does. Who do you think pays for mom and dad's medicare and social security, unemployment benefits, workmen's comp, national roadways, early childhood development, and on and on. We all benefit from the social plans that put government money in the hands of those who use it to buy the goods and services that drives the economy.

Give breaks to the fat cats and they'll just build another factory in China or buy another yacht in Spain. They don't use it to buy more goods and services that drive the economy because they are already buying all they need. Like I said, follow the money and it will set your mind free.

More Sugarcoating... Words, a lot of words... almost text book liberalism here, talk about being brain washed.

The only thing that made any sense was that McCain had nothing, he was a bad candidate with a horrible campaign. The future is 2012, I predict a bloodbath in the house after the Democratic run house tilts this Country and brings her to her knees. Have fun Dave!! Don't forget to go green.

OK, that money for those services comes out of my paycheck. I don't have it if I don't give it. It's not as though it is sweetly done for me at no cost to me.

One of the big problems is folks not realizing it's OUR MONEY..

                    The question is not answered

Who will benefit from Obamas plan?

That's right, the people who do not pay in taxes in the first place.

                      A nice lunch.

I spent my lunch time reading this thread. It is always interesting to listen to both sides of a story. The thing that I draw off of the most is that everyone here is angry about ideas. Just like with religion you have two differing ideas, and when we argue about them no will ever win. The point is this, I would have voted for McCain. I have read his books and closely watched him through out the election. If he would have stayed true to himself, and presented himself like he did in his concession speech, he would have had my vote. For some reason he started acting different. Like the big money in the Republican party was pulling his strings. I do not want my president to be a puppet to anyone. I voted for Obama. I like how he talks change, and that this is all about the people. I hope that he does not turn into a puppet. I hope that he stays true to what he has presented himself as. If he does not I will not vote for him the next time. That is the beauty of the way that the United States elects its leader. If he does not stay true to what he said he will be voted out of office.

As for the people that he associates with like Reverand Wright. Did anyone take the time to watch his sermons? I did, and the sad part is that most of the things that he said were true. You can not take the little blips that the media airs, you must take what he is saying in the context of what he is saying. Ayers: If someone pays their debt to society are we not to forgive him? I am pretty sure the Bible talks about forgiving and forgetting. Why do we not do this with this man? All we hear about are the bad things that he has done. Did anyone take the time to see what he has done for South Chicago?

All I can say is that we will see. I love our country. I have made the best educated desicion that I could make when casting my vote. Instead of listening to what any media outlet had to say, I did my own research and came my own conclusion.

                          Sigh!

I'm reminded of the scene in Jaws where Richard Dreyfuss is watching all these fishermen going off in a tear after the shark.

Soooo..... anything remotely negative about a liberal is just a distraction, but Joe the plumber doesn't actually have a plumbing license and is only aspiring to own a plumbing business is a reason not to vote for McCain???

                              Ayres is a distraction.

                              Wright is a distraction.

You studied economics in college (a stronghold of liberalism) and "rich" people need to pay more taxes.

I'm a conservative and therefore not very cerebral.

I guess I shouldn't ask why this doesn't make sense to me.

As a college boy I'm sure you have taken some sociology classes - you should understand "Herd Mentality" as in you become more like what you surround yourself with. Obama chose to surround himself with people like Ayres and Wright. Don't tell me it hasn't affected him - look at his voting record.

As for Obama's idea of economics, let's look at a recent example: What happened when gas prices tripled or quadrupled. Nearly all goods and services rely on transportation in some form or annother - even information bought and sold strictly online has to store and transport that information which takes electricity... These businesses weren't going to eat the cost - they've got a profit margin to maintain, so the cost of EVERYTHING went up.

Now if these companies and investors get a bigger tax burden, what do you think will happen to the price of their goods and services??? Let's pretend Obama is going to do what he says, (again check his voting record - this is a laugh) and give most of a tax break we would break even at best. But since the cost of things is higher, you still end up with a net slowdown in the economy. When the economy slows down your company either can't pay as well, or can't keep you at all... So now you have more expensive goods and services and lower pay or no job.

Don't believe it? Reagan took over from Carter, and slashed the top withholding rate from 70% to 38% - the resulting surge in the economy meant that Gov't tax revenues doubled, unemployment fell sharply, and inflation... well... deflated.

... and what is wrong with me holding on to my guns and my God? Say for a moment that I'm wrong and God doesn't exist - my (admittedly not so strict) adherence to biblical teaching has kept me out of trouble and made me a much better member of society - what's wrong with that.

... and look at Florida. 20 years ago if you had a handgun and put bullets in it you were considered a criminal. Crime was rampant. Then they did a complete 180 and started issuing CCW permits. Violent crime dropped 40% overnight. Seems the Gov't "Justice System" wasn't much of a deterrent to mugging an old lady on the street. Having to worry if she was going to pull a .357 out of that purse your trying to steal is. An armed man is a citizen - an unarmed man is a subject.

end of rant - end of my attempts to bring wisdom to liberals - I can sum up the outcome with 2 quotes:

None are so blind as those who WILL NOT see.

Never argue with an idiot - people watching might not be able to tell the difference between you.
