    New career - writing sci-fi

    Hey Guys!

    Just made the transition from tech to writer after 28 years in the office machine industry, half that as a tech. I still keep my hand in, like donating my prestine Sharp 7370 to a non-profit food bank, helping out where I can. I keep my tool kit stocked and ready!

    This is my fourth novel, but the first to be published. Lots of high tech stuff: aliens, space ships, nuclear winter, shoot-em ups, experimental submarine, babes. I think I did all right for an old copier tech. Check it out at the major online book stores: Mankind's Worst Fear, ISBN # 1-60610-700-3

    I even wrote a short story about a field tech. If you're interested, I'll send it on. No charge for techs.

      There is life after copiers!!!

      Cool... I like the cover art, though I will probably wait for the paper back since $29.95 is a bit pricey for me. Good luck on your new adventure. You will have to keep us copy techs up to date on your career, you know tell us when the movie comes out, give us free stuff we can sell on eBay...

          Amazon.com carries it for $26.95. Still a bit pricey, but, unfortunately PublishAmerica doesn't do paper backs.

          I am looking into putting it out in ebook format.

          I'll let you know when I get a movie deal - A copier tech doing a Hollywood movie. Can you imagine that?

              Good luck on your escape from the copier biz, many have attempted to escape its black-hole like gravitational suckitude but few have made it.

                  Yeah, thanks.

                  I sold my dealership in Florida after fourteen years and thought I was done with it. Moved to Missouri and was offered a job as a shop tech, so back into it after six months.

                  I tried again a few months ago, went into game repair (video games, pinballs, etc), but got laid off. Economy around here is heading south.

                  So, here I go again.

                      There just aren't that many things that I'm good enough at that I can get paid to do them. I too have been sucked back in. =^..^=
                      If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
