Average score for this quiz during November: 77.9%
    Average score: 77.9%

Are you more knowledgeable than the average citizen? The average score for all 2,508 Americans taking the following test was 49%; college educators scored 55%. Can you do better? Questions were drawn from past ISI surveys, as well as other nationally recognized exams.

Not bad I think considering I have not studied the US political system or economics in any detail.

I usually have enough trouble remembering stuff for the copiers

Does this also make me qualified to teach in American colleges???

I'm below average, but although I'm interested in the world around me, I'm not really into politics and civics was never one of my best subjects. So I did better than I thought. Maybe I should have done better, because I like history and a lot of the questions had to do with history.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Coke in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!".

I got 25 of 33 for 75.76% It is not that I got 8 wrong, it is on those 8 people and the government have not come around to my way of thinking.

I don't consider myself any sort of expert in government or history, so my 67% is probably deserved. I was hoping I would do better though. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

...although I do admit to guessing at 1 or 2 of them.

                  civic lesson

I missed 5: One was just plain dumb, one I should have gotten, but went brain dead and question #27 I had to take issue with. Two others I didn't agree with entirely, but got right (according to the test suppliers.

Interesting choice of questions. Some had nothing to do with American civics, so didn't understand why they were included.

Got 100%, after 5 tries and using Google. Otherwise I got the lowest score posted so far. It's pretty bad when folks from other countries no more about the USA than I do. I guess I'll go sulk (or back to school).

The stuff people should know, but do not know, would fill a book. Problem is nobody would pick it up and read it.

                        Civic lesson

Sad, but true, for most people. I'd say a lot of what people these days believe to be historically accurate comes from the movies. Since it is an entertainment medium, the writers and producers have a great deal of flexibility to promote or ignore important facts and nuances.

Then again, what should be in the history and civic books used in schools today, isn't. For example (I just read about this in the NY Times and learned about it in History of Florida while in College) the first pilgrims to the New World were French and set up their community in North East Florida, long before the English settlers set foot on Plymouth Rock. And truth be told, the New World wasn't very tolerante when it came to religion.

Do NOT feel bad my friend, for being book smart is only half the battle.

I scored 79 but I am not ashamed, I know people who are book smart that would score 100% on this, who also locks their keys in the car and loses their wallet three times a year.
