[People] Where are we headed as humans?

I would like to start a new thread about where future tech may be leading us.

    My contribution:

Scientist are already able to clone organs for transplant from cells from the original life form. Soon (one could assume) they will be able to clone a complete body.
Another line of experimentation is to do with 'mapping' the brains neural connections that make up memory, and also to 'implant' 'false' memory.
Now lets suppose they were able to clone a complete 'raw' younger version of your physical self, map your brain, implant the memory into the cloned version, would the clone then effectively recognise itself as 'You'?
Also, if they could create versions of yourself in several distant places, map your memory, convert it into transmittable data, then transmit that data to where one of your clones is, and then implant the memory into the clone,(a bit like a fax machine works), the clone could then perform whatever tasks that were required of it, the process reversed, and the memory (with new added memory) re-implanted into you original self, would you then have effectively 'Teleported' yourself at virtually the speed of light?
Care would of course have to be taken to ensure that no versions of any 'Self' were conscious at any same moment, as there could be conflict of 'experience'.

Not worried. Just fascinated. Already have one foot in the grave. 20 years plus of photocopier tech-ing does take its toll!!
