Re: Let the truth be known
Trump defense spins flimsy, misleading arguments
President Donald Trump's legal team opened its defense Saturday by focusing -- mainly -- on pushing back against the two articles of impeachment levied against him: abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. White House counsel Pat Cipollone, who led the team, maintained a calm, measured demeanor -- in marked contrast to the accusatory, aggrieved tone he and his colleagues adopted during last week's highly charged procedural debate.
Don't be lulled by the legalistic veneer offered by Trump's team on Saturday. They're already spinning deception, and likely setting the table for more inflammatory attacks to come. The arguments Trump's lawyers advanced Saturday largely fall flat, running the gamut from marginally convincing (at best) to transparently flimsy, outright misleading and disingenuous.
Here's a rundown of the primary arguments we heard from the Trump legal team on day one of its three-day opening presentation.
Argument 1. The Ukrainians didn't know about the freeze on aid and felt 'no pressure' from Trump.
Argument 2. Trump is an intrepid, dedicated, international corruption-buster.
Argument 3. Evidence of the corrupt exchange (or 'quid pro quo') was largely speculative and based on presumption.Comment

Re: Let the truth be known
If you read deep into this article it states Cross isn't even a democrat.
This is about highlighting how far to the left these groups have devolved. With harmless names like KCYD or the 37th Legislative District Democrats, you might think they stand for mainstream views representative of the Democrat party. They don’t. Cross isn’t even a Democrat. On Twitter, Cross identifies as a Seattle socialist.

Just because you say something, "buddy" doesn't make it true. The Democratic party is so far right of socialism it is laughable
PS. I wasn't spinning anything, simply using the article you posted to show how distraction and redirection seem to be the only defence for the RepsComment

Re: Let the truth be known
In April 2015, The Intercept reported in collaboration with Der Spiegel that a U.S. military base in Ramstein, Germany, serves as the "high-tech heart" of America's drone program. Ramstein is the site of a satellite relay station that enables drone operators in the American southwest to communicate with their remote aircraft in Yemen, Somalia, Afghanistan, and other targeted countries. The Intercept cited a top-secret document and a confidential source, who said that "Ramstein carries the signal to tell the drone what to do and it returns the display of what the drone sees. Without Ramstein, drones could not function, at least not as they do now."[26]
if you look further, you will read that they have supported terrorist acts in foreign countries, directed at 'western countries'.
Yeah no wonder they put out shit like the above video. What wonderful news/information groups you have there. How's Sadiq working out?

CNN Discovers Democratic Voters 'Not Really That Interested' in Impeachment
Although impeaching President Donald Trump has been the core purpose of House Democrats for months, the American people are shrugging off the entire spectacle, according to one CNN commentator.

If CNN & MSNBC Used the 9 Rules Jim Lehrer Left Behind, They'd Shut Down Tomorrow
Rule 1: Do nothing I cannot defend.
Rule 2: Cover, write and present every story with the care I would want if the story were about me.
Rule 3: Assume there is at least one other side or version to every story.
Rule 4: Assume the viewer is as smart and caring and good a person as I am
Rule 5: Assume the same about all people on whom I report.
Rule 6: Assume personal lives are a private matter until a legitimate turn in the story absolutely mandates otherwise.
Rule 7: Carefully separate opinion and analysis from straight news stories and clearly label everything
Rule 8: Do not use anonymous sources or blind quotes except on rare and monumental occasions. No one should be allowed to attack another anonymously.
Rule 9: I am not in the entertainment business.
well Jim, I guess that list was burned a while back

The Meltdown
Impeachment, war, and rally crowds: Trump made 49 false claims last week
President Donald Trump made 49 false claims last week, sprinkling his dishonesty around a wide range of subjects.
Between January 13 and January 19, Trump made eight false claims related to the economy, eight related to the military, seven related to impeachment, seven related to Democrats, and six about energy.
While 49 false claims across seven days is by no means trivial, it's below Trump's weekly average of 60 per week for the period starting July 8, when we started counting at CNN.
Trump is now up to 1,685 false claims since July 8.
The most egregious false claim: Pre-existing conditions
Trump keeps simultaneously promising to protect people with pre-existing conditions and attempting to reduce protections for people with pre-existing conditions. As we've repeatedly noted, Trump has supported unsuccessful Republican legislation that would weaken protections offered by Obamacare -- and he is currently backing a Republican lawsuit that has asked the courts to kill Obamacare in full.
Last week, he turned the empty pledge about the future into egregious nonsense about the past. Criticizing an ad from Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg, Trump tweeted, "I was the person who saved Pre-Existing Conditions in your Healthcare, you have it now..."
That's absurd. People "have it" only because Trump's opponents have blocked his attempts to get rid of it.
