James Carville is still fired up over the leftward direction of the Democratic Party and vented more of his concerns after a now-viral rant this week.
The longtime Democratic strategist sounded the alarm in an interview with Vox, warning that Democrats have to get “their sh*t together” and that there’s “No chance in hell” of regaining power in the Senate if Sen. Bernie Sanders is going to end up leading the party.
Carville’s interview came days after he unloaded on MSNBC about the state – and the fate – of the Democratic Party and its dismal prospects for beating President Donald Trump in November unless there are some changes.

The former Clinton adviser admitted he was “scared to death” of what lay ahead just as the Iowa caucus debacle was unraveling for Democrats.

“This is very bad. And now it appears the party can’t even count votes. What the hell am I supposed to think?” Carville told Vox’s Sean Illing.
“The fate of the world depends on the Democrats getting their sh*t together and winning in November. We have to beat Trump. And so far, I don’t like what I see. And a lot of people I talk to feel the same way,” he said, pointing to the success of the 2018 midterms when Democrats “didn’t get distracted, we didn’t get deflected.”
Examples of those distractions he referred to include issues such as open borders and decriminalizing illegal immigration as well as eliminating nuclear energy and fracking.

“You’ve got Bernie Sanders talking about letting criminals and terrorists vote from jail cells. It doesn’t matter what you think about any of that, or if there are good arguments — talking about that is not how you win a national election. It’s not how you become a majoritarian party,” Carville contended.
