Look at the cities that HAVE Defunded the cops, now they are scrambling to hire and have to give BONUSES to those that signed up.
Problem is Ron DeSantis has picked up a lot of them, higher pay than what they were getting.
No vaccine mandates.
Better working conditions than before.

The reason the Republicans did go with the proposed bill is the extra pork built into it.

Federal funding bills for police usually cause more problems for local communities. More often than not they provide funds to hire and train new officers. When the term of the funding, the current fiscal year, ends so does the money and the local governments are right back where they started. By police de-funding we are referring to major Democrat ran cities deciding to reduce the number of police officers and not providing adequate raises. Many have suggested replacing police with social workers.
