AFTER A YEAR PORTLAND MAYOR IS FINALLY OVER THE MOB BURNING DOWN THE CITY by GARY SHEFFIELD, JR
Mayor Wheeler has extended the state of emergency in Portland through noon Monday. He asks members of the public to get license plates of people dressed all in black and report them to the police. "Our job is to unmask them, arrest them and prosecute them." pic.twitter.com/QsW73Me9fL
Reap what they sow This is the domino effect of poor leadership and hoodwinked civilians allowing their city to have their hand on the wheel for everything. Want protection from covid, from murderous police officers, or from gang violence?
Mayor Ted Wheeler has got you covered, Portland.

NRCC Poll: Republicans Projected to Regain House Majority in Midterm Elections, Pelosi Remains the Most Unpopular Politician
An internal survey of battleground congressional seats from the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) found Republicans are poised to take back the House in the upcoming midterm elections.
The survey was conducted between April 18-21. It consisted of 1,000 voters across 85 Battleground Congressional Districts and included an oversample in 16 ticket-splitting districts. Polling was conducted 65 percent over a cell phone, 15 percent from a landline, and 20 percent online.

"In light of the dire situation and acute suffering faced by millions of people in El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras, Vice President Harris announced an additional $310 million in U.S. government support," a fact sheet released by the White House said.
Biden administration to issue executive order to increase minimum wage for federal contractors
It's easy to increase the minimum wage when it's the tax payer footing the bill. What you didn't include is that the minimum wage for these contracts will be indexed to inflation so that every year after 2022 it will be automatically adjusted to reflect changes in the cost of living. So the more the government taxes and spends, the more these federal contract workers will make. In the public sector, raises are performance based. In the government, I guess raises are based on inflation caused by their own poor economic policies. No one should be insulated from the forces of a free market.

.... many federal jobs are short term seasonal jobs that end on a specific date. I am sure many summer students or seasonal workers will be please to get paid $15.00 hour.
Almost as good as Amazon wages but not nearly as hard on your body.

I agree. $15 is a great wage for a summer job, but as a tax payer I wouldn't want the government overpaying for a job that might not be worth $15 per hour, just because it can print the money to do so. When/if this same policy gets pushed down to all American business owners, there will be less entry level jobs to be had because they don't have these same unlimited funds to work with. In theory, a minimum wage makes it illegal for someone willing to work for less than what the business owner is required to pay them.

Spoken like a true socialist. At your core, you despise the free market and the greedy corporate pigs. But you love you some government.

The US is over $28 trillion in debt to a privately owned bank. There is only two ways to pay it off 1.) raise taxes on the citizens or 2.) cut spending. It bemuses me that we are handing out money we do not have. Does this spending weaken the dollar? Inflation is on the rise as well.
