Re: The worst industry to install/service copiers for.
I once had a fax machine at a high school that was on the third floor; there was no elevator, only steps.
The only problem was that the school was in the worst possible part of town, where the students were scary, to say the least. It was well before the days of having any sort of officer on watch.
Fortunately, I managed to stay on my feet.
I was at a High School during class change, and the halls were packed solid. I was carrying my usual hard case (#28).
There was a tall lanky kid shoving his way against the traffic. He saw the there was a gap at my left and ran right square into my toolcase. I heard a loud crack from his kneecap and he went down. I looked around for him, but he disappeared underfoot. A minute later the traffic cleared and he was gone... must have limped off.
=^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: The worst industry to install/service copiers for.
I had some machines at the county jail, would be there a lot. They didnt treat the machines well. One time I get there for a call and a new lady behind the glass pushes a clipboard out the slot. I say what is this? She says I have to take inventory of everything in my toolcase ect. I told her that would take a long time, and if she or someone was gonna watch me do the inventory? She said why? I say if not I could just write down anything I want to,also someone would need to watch me do inventory on the way out so they would know if I left stuff in there. She had nothing to say about that. I knew we were swamped with calls so I called office and asked if I had time to inventory all my stuff, they said no,we will come back when we are not busy. The person called back who had the broken machine and asked when we were gonna get there,we told them we were there but they would not let me in without doing inventory. He was pissed and asked to come back as soon as possible and there will be no inventory. I never saw that lady again.Comment

I went to work on a fax in the booking department of the local jail. To get to the booking department, you had to be escorted all the way through to the back of the jail. Went through the same hassle with wanting me to inventory all my tools. When I asked why, they said I couldn't take anything with me that could be used as a weapon. I told them almost every tool I had could be used as a weapon. That sent the lady on a tirade about security and following rules, and at the end she dropped the bomb on me that while I was in the jail, they "couldn't guarantee my safety". I told her I will not work in an area where my safety is not guaranteed, and walked out. When they called the boss to complain, he told them we would be happy to work on the equipment when it was moved to a safe location. We never head from them again. I think they went to Office Max and got a disposable fax to use, because no other tech would go back there either.Comment

Yeah, years ago we leased Toshiba 2060 to our Ministry of Defence for Meetings of NATO Ministers of Defence or like. They called about paper jams and after extensive investigation let me go in, but at last door guardians say - No way to enter with your tools. At the end they let me to choose only 2-3 pieces from my toolbag. I smiled and get my flashlight, tweezers and just for good measure my long PH2 screwdriver, at the end I know they are Мilitary and they must have tear some small piece of paper or even whole sheet
Needless to say they left paper jam inside machine.A tree is known by its fruit, a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost, he who sows courtesy, reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.
