Heard yesterday that Obesity and Old age (over 70 and coupled with one or more underlying conditions) make up 85 - 90% of fatal cases and hospitalizations worldwide.

China Now Claims Coronavirus Probably Did Not Come From Wet Market, Virus Not Found In Animal Samples There | The Daily Wire

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) reported this week in state-run media that Chinese scientists are now leaning towards believing that the coronavirus pandemic that has ravaged the world did not originate in Huanan seafood market in Wuhan.

They've lied through their teeth this whole time, so maybe they're speaking the truth now?

I always thank the fish/animal for giving it's life to sustain mine.

I am 72, 5' 9" and weigh about 290. hat classifies me as obese. I am otherwise in relative good health with no other underlying medical problems except hypertension. Most of my life I have eaten most of those things they say will cause high cholesterol and diabetes. But my blood sugar has always stayed between and 80 and 110. As for cholesterol, my overall count is good and my bad cholesterol is excellent. The only possible problem is that my good cholesterol is slightly low.

An interesting thing about that list of what fats/oils to avoid, walk down your baking/cooking oil aisle in your local grocery store and what major brands do you see? Mazola - corn oil, Crisco and Wesson - canola oil, Saffola -safflower oil. And what do they often recommend for those with high cholesterol? Corn oil, canola oil and safflower oil. I prefer to use butter and bacon grease. Corn oil and canola oi do not IMHO make good gravy. As for safflower oil, my older sister is highly allergic to safflower. For spreadable I use either whipped butter, if I remember to take it out to soften, otherwise I use spreadable butter with olive oil.

A lot of the latino stores that i would buy from are big in frying everything with the cheapest oil possible.
I dont eat much fried food nor cook it but use barbecue for 90% of what i make.
sometime i use some oak and do this even in the dead of winter...
I dont eat much red meat but mostly fish and chicken and vegs..
Growing up my dad use to cook with bacon fat and although tasty I dont.
I dont even eat bacon anymore..
my regular dr is a heart specialist too and its funny as when there i watch the cars
picking up at the drivethru MCDONALDS...I told him he should put a poster in that window
saying "come here when you start to care about your heart"..
There is no perfect blueprint but we know what

i hope you don't get the coconut oil to the smoking stage.. something about the overheated oil can cause cancer...

But, I agree with your other choices .. when using ACTUAL butter I prefer to use the Un Salted brand. I really don't like salt when there are other great flavors you can achieve with spices. Or certain acidic fruits.

Peanut oil is great for pan or deep frying. Strain your spent oil thru a GOOD paper towel and you can extend the uses to 4 -5 times as opposed to throwing it out.
**Caveat - you don't want to mix fish fried in the oil with chicken or veggies/fries keep the fish oil seperate ***

All the major dairy brands around here sell unsalted butter. A lot of the time it is labeled as sweet creamery butter though most are starting to include "No Added Salt" on the packaging. One other thing to watch out for is monosodium glutamate, MSG. Found as a flavor enhancer in a lot of packaged food and oriental food. It enhances flavor by over stimulating the taste buds which eventually destroys some of your taste buds.

The only oriental prepackaged I buy is wonton/seaweed wrappers.
