During a Saturday news conference, Department of Health and Environmental Control interim public health director Dr. Brannon Traxler emphasized the importance of wearing masks to slow down the virus, even as vaccines for COVID-19 have begun to make their way into the state.

Some seniors in Tennessee this week were allegedly turned away after waiting for hours in line for coronavirus vaccinations, but once they were gone, friends and family members of those who were distributing the doses jumped the line, according to a report.
WRCB-TV to include all county residents over the age of 75. Word had spread, and by mid-morning, cars were lining up.

240 People Diagnosed with COVID After Being Vaccinated

As Israel races to vaccinate its population to bring the coronavirus under control, a new report shows that even though one million Israelis have been vaccinated, the virus remains difficult to eradicate.
To date, 240 Israelis who received the first dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine have later been diagnosed with the virus, according to the Times of Israel.
Two factors are at work. For one, the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine is only touted to provide 50 percent immunity. It is not until the second dose is administered 21 days after the first dose that 95 percent immunity is achieved.

The second issue is that the injection does not promise instant immunity.
A primer on vaccines[I]updated post that the same holds true for the coronavirus vaccineHaaretzHaaretzcoronavirus lockdown, Israel has heard calls from some officials to extend the 21-day period between doses of the Pfizer vaccine in order to give more people limited immunity.

That notion was rejected Sunday by Professor Hezi Levy, director-general of the Health Ministry, who said the vaccine will be used in accordance with the instructions provided by Pfizer.
Instead, a more drastic lockdown may be imposed, according to the Times of Israel. The new lockdown could close schools and put further restrictions on businesses.

And now we find out China LIED about the number of deaths there..... now 10TIMES the number of deaths. (some claim it to be even higher than that!)

UK Prime Minister imposes harsh lockdown as new Covid-19 variant spreads


UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson reimposed a lockdown in England on Monday as a more transmissible variant of Covid-19 fuels a surge in infections and hospitalizations in the country.

"It is clear that we need to do more to bring this new variant under control," Johnson said. "That means the government is once again instructing you to stay at home."

During his televised address to the nation, Johnson reimposed measures seen during the first lockdown last spring, including closures of secondary and primary schools to all except the children of key workers and vulnerable children. People will be allowed to leave their homes for limited reasons like shopping for essentials, exercise, and medical assistance.

Johnson also said people could still leave home "to escape domestic abuse" -- an issue that arose earlier during the pandemic, as isolation and lockdown conditions exacerbated barriers to escape for victims of domestic violence.

Outdoor sports venues will have to close. But unlike spring's lockdown, nurseries will not be shuttered, elite sports can go ahead, and places of worship will remain open on the basis that attendees adhere to social distancing rules.

The lockdown is expected to remain in place at least through the middle of February.
