CDC warns lawmakers that delta variant is as contagious as chickenpox and may make people sicker than original Covid

      • The CDC warned the new delta variant sweeping across the country is as contagious as chickenpox, has a longer transmission window than the original Covid-19 strain and may make older people sicker.
      • Delta, already the dominant form of the disease in the United States, is more transmissible than the common cold, the 1918 Spanish flu, smallpox, Ebola, and MERS and SARS, according to a CDC document.
      • Health officials said federal and state leaders should communicate to the public the benefits of getting vaccinated.

ffs do you really believe this rubbish, we have the delta variant here to and supermarkets along with public transport are now saying mask wearing is a personal choice, we are distancing ourselves from this doom and gloom nonsense and trying to get on with it, as I am sure others are.
This thread will become an echo chamber for you and BSM as no-one is really interested.

I don't believe in their science, sometimes it just seems to defy common sense.

... a deadly COVID-D variant that can spread as easily as chickenpox is very serious.

One copier techs opinion vs the CDC. Who should I beleive?

The COVID pandemic spreading quickly amongst the unvaccinated is very serious.

Florida is now the COVID epicenter in the USA despite the Republican Governor's attempts to misdirect and deny the medical science. All Florida counties are now flagged as severe risk. Florida has long been a beacon for elderly retirees and the are most at risk.

A new study shows the Delta Covid-19 variant produced similar amounts of virus in vaccinated and unvaccinated people if they get infected -- illustrating a key motivation behind the federal guidance that now recommends most fully vaccinated Americans wear masks indoors.

Experts say that vaccination makes it less likely that you'll catch Covid-19 in the first place -- but for those who do, this data suggests they could have a similar tendency to spread it as unvaccinated folks.

"High viral loads suggest an increased risk of transmission and raised concern that, unlike with other variants, vaccinated people infected with Delta can transmit the virus," Dr. Rochelle Walensky, director of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said in a statement Friday.

Walmart mandates vaccines for all corporate employees

Walmart is requiring all US-based corporate employees to be vaccinated by October 4, according to a Friday memo from Doug McMillon, the company's president and CEO.

The company has been gradually having workers come back to the office, and plans to be "closer to pre-pandemic levels after Labor Day." It will continue monitoring pandemic conditions before determining if that timeline needs to be altered, McMillon said in the memo.

In an earlier Friday memo, Walmart announced that all employees are required to wear masks inside again, regardless of vaccination status, in places with "substantial or high transmission." The new policy is effective immediately, the nation's largest retailer said Friday.

Store managers will receive local updates every Monday to determine their facility's necessary protocol.

Customers will not be required to wear masks, but they will be strongly encouraged, and facilities will post signs to remind them of the CDC's new guidelines.

While Walmart (WMT) is not mandating that store employees get vaccinated, it will soon implement a new process to verify their vaccine status, and is strongly encouraging workers to get vaccinated. As part of its push for vaccination, the company is offering employees the chance to get vaccinated while on the clock and up to three days paid leave for any reaction to the shot.

Additionally, Walmart is doubling its current vaccine incentive to $150. Originally, the company was offering employees $75 to get vaccinated. Current employees who get vaccinated and new employees who were vaccinated before they started at Walmart are all eligible to receive the bonus.

The decision to reinstate a mask mandate comes following updated guidelines from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released on Tuesday, recommending that fully vaccinated people resume wearing masks indoors in areas with high transmission rates of Covid-19. That currently includes nearly two-thirds of all US counties.

Which is it? Are they mandating as said at the start of this post or not?

Are they going to set up vaccination clinics at all their facilities so that employees can get vaccinated when coming to work? Or are they going to require their employees to get vaccinated on their own time, something that might not be possible in many communities for employees working week days 9 to 5 as those are also the times that most county health department clinics are open.

The majority of WalMart pharmacies offer vaccination free vaccination services. Come on down TODAY!

If you work at Walmart and you get vaccinated , you get a $150.00 bonus! If you do not get vaccinated, like the new rules for the Federal gov't, you will be constantly tested, required to wear face shields and masks, be required to take education classes and find that opportunities for career advancement are closed.

Come Sept., Corporate America will become very intolerant of unvaccinated people either as employees or customers.
