Quebec City police arrest COVID-19 patient for defying quarantine | CBC News
In a nation of 35 million people, I am not aware of every bit of news, especially old news on a single case from March 2020.

... The woman had tested positive for COVID-19 and was voluntarily ignoring mandatory quarantine rules. I am glad she was arrested and transported to a medical facility.

... would you want this woman living next to you and if she was how would you propose to deal with her non compliance?

In Canada and especially the USA, COVID-19 infections and fatalities have gotten much worse since nine months have passed when this story was published.

I know you're glad that the woman was arrested. I'm sure you'll be glad when your government goes after the folk who refuse the vaccine. In other news: Water is wet.

EXCLUSIVE: President Trump is expected to sign an executive order Tuesday that will ensure all Americans have access to the coronavirus vaccine before the U.S. government begins aiding nations around the world, Fox News has learned.

Senior administration officials told Fox News Monday that the president will reemphasize to the American people that the “priority has been an America First approach,” during a vaccine summit at the White House Tuesday.
The news of the executive order comes just days ahead of the Food and Drug Administration's Thursday meeting regarding Pfizer and BioNTech’s application for emergency authorization of their coronavirus vaccine, three weeks after the companies filed for it. The FDA also plans to meet on Dec. 17 to discuss Moderna’s vaccine.
A source close to the White House Coronavirus Task Force told Fox News last week that the Pfizer-BioNTech authorization could come as early as Friday. FDA Commissioner Stephen Hahn last week said that they are “very hopeful” of approval and that they are “moving very quickly.”
“The priority is to make sure we distribute these vaccines to Americans before we start shipping them around the world to get international access,” an official told Fox News, predicting that international assistance could come “late spring, early summer,” and after they “achieve vaccinating those who have a desire to be vaccinated.”
PENCE SAYS US 'A WEEK AND A HALF AWAY' FROM 'LIKELY APPROVAL' OF FIRST CORONAVIRUS VACCINE
The official said that the executive order is “clear and is directing that we prioritize access to the American people before working with partners and allies to provide access to the vaccine.”
The official added that the order will identify “who will be working with the international aspect of this, the framework, guides and tools, for when we have an excess supply to meet those demands.”

President-elect Joe Biden on Monday selected Dr. Rochelle Walensky to run the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention when his administration takes office next month.

Walensky teaches at Harvard Medical School and is an infectious disease physician at both Massachusetts General Hospital and the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, according to her biography on the former hospital's website.

Her selection comes as the nation is in the midst of a spike in coronavirus infections, with the U.S. outpacing all other nations with nearly 15 million cases and more than 282,000 virus-related deaths, according to a Johns Hopkins University tracker.
The current CDC Director Redfield was a Trump political appointee. He did as good a job as he could under enormous political pressure from the President.

This latest Trump edict is likely too late considering that a lot of these vaccines are manufactured outside of the USA and that many countries had already signed contracts for the delivery of these vaccines.

... as mentioned, the Canadian Gov't position on how to deal with people who refuse to take a COVID-19 vaccine, has not been publicly debated. Demand will outpace supply for many, many months. The Prime Minister said that he hoped 50% of the population would voluntarily get vaccinated by Aug 2021.

... I suspect there will be no laws requiring a person to take the vaccine.

... I suspect those who refuse to get vaccinated will have to get use to access to various goods and services being denied or slowed to them.

Two square miles in Portage, near Kalamazoo, on Monday became the epicenter of hopes that the United States will be distributing coronavirus vaccines by year-end.

                  announced
If all goes as planned, and the companies are able to get Emergency Use Authorization from the federal Food and Drug Administration, the rollout of a vaccine to fight the global pandemic could begin this year. The two injections that appear to offer protection against the virus will be free to Americans. Unclear so far is how that will take place, and on what timetable.

In July 2020, Pfizer and BioNTech announced an agreement with the U.K. to supply 30 million doses of the BNT162b2 mRNA-based vaccine, once authorized for emergency use. That agreement was increased to 40 million doses in early October. The delivery of the 40 million doses will occur throughout 2020 and 2021, in stages, to ensure an equitable allocation of vaccines across the geographies with executed contracts. Now that the vaccine is authorized in the U.K., the companies will take immediate action to begin the delivery of vaccine doses. The first doses are expected to arrive in the U.K. in the coming days, with complete delivery fulfilment expected in 2021.

Try to stay on point. You said the vaccine was being made outside the USA. It's not. Why do you keep making these false statements? It's being made in Michigan and Trump's executive order overrides any contract made with another country. Just be patient, the USA will let you know when we're ready to help other countries like Canada. America First.
