Since covid 19 pandemic a lot of us have applied for unemployment and some of us have started getting the checks...
the problem is a lot of us have started working and can't get the checks to stop...
(the option is missing from the appropriate website, the option is on the appropriate website... you check it and it does not change anything and you tried talking to the unemployment hotline with no resolution )
you got a couple of options...
1. wait for your state to assess how much they have over-payed you plus penalties for their oversight and send you a request to repay or possibly a warrant for your arrest... hey its america... anything is possible...
2. if you are getting physical checks... write void on them and return them to the mailing address... taking the appropriate picture for your records and make copies...
3. if you have found out after you have spent the money or if you are getting direct deposits...
you can call your states unemployment hotline and ask for their repayment site... and bite the bullet and pay by credit card or by check... (and keep copies of all receipts)
that website link for florida is
Overpayment - FloridaJobs.org
NOTE: if you overpay the repayment on the overpayment... its nonrefundable... only in america... lol
