Rep. Kevin McCarthy appears to suffer a historic defeat in the 10th ballot for House speaker as more than five Republicans opposed his bid.

The current bid for House leadership is now the longest speaker contest in 164 years.

U.S. President Joe Biden will visit the southern border city of El Paso, Texas, on Sunday to meet with local officials and address enforcement operations on the U.S.-Mexico border, officials said.
The trip details came as the administration announced new border enforcement measures related to the anticipated lifting of the Covid-era Title 42 policy.
The actions include extending a migrant parole process to allow entry and work authorization for up to 30,000 people per month from Venezuela, Cuba, Haiti and Nicaragua.

McCarthy poised to fail on 11th ballot
For the 11th time, McCarthy is likely to fail in his bid to be speaker. By the time the House reached the members whose last names start with "D," Hern and others had already secured seven Republican votes, enough to crush McCarthy's 11th bid.

This isn't good news for Biden and democrats. A deal will be reached with McCarthy after enough concessions have been met and rest assured that we're blocking all the liberal policies that come thru the house for the next 2 years.
