Throughout our history, presidents have gone to the House of Representatives to speak to the Congress, to the nation, and to the world.
They have gone to declare war. To celebrate peace. To announce new plans and possibilities.
Tonight, I went to talk about crisis and opportunity. About rebuilding our nation and revitalizing our democracy. About America winning the future.
After 100 Days of rescue and renewal, America is ready for takeoff. We are working again. Dreaming again. Discovering again. Leading the world again.
We have shown each other and the world: There is no quit in America.

US Economy surges to start the year as GDP jumps 6.4% in the first quarter.

Economic activity boomed to start 2021, as widespread vaccinations and more fuel from government spending helped get the U.S. closer to where it was before the Covid-19 pandemic struck.

Gross domestic product, the sum of all goods and services produced in the U.S. economy, jumped 6.4% for the first three months of the year on an annualized basis. Outside of the reopening-fueled third-quarter surge last year, it was the best period for GDP since the third quarter of 2003!

The boost in GDP came across a spectrum of areas, including increased personal consumption, fixed residential and nonresidential investment and government spending. Declines in inventories and exports as well as an increase in imports subtracted from the gain.

The latest numbers reflect an economy that has made major strides since the 2020 lockdown that sent more than 22 million American workers to the unemployment line and saw GDP plunge an unprecedented 31.4% in Q2 of 2020.

My wallet hurt every time he said the word "free". Any smart person knows that nothing is free. All he's doing is giving more incentives for illegals to come here - essentially buying votes. Democrats are always about "crisis and opportunity". So much so that they create their own crises so they can declare that they are the only solution. The problem with this is that there is no solution to their defined crisis. We must continue to give up more personal freedoms in the name of solving a problem that is either not there (global warming) or can be better solved without government intervention (just about everything else).

You don't want anyone to have to show an ID to vote, so what's to keep them from voting if they want to? Laws mean nothing to illegals, that's why they're here illegally.

exactly... just like criminals don't follow gun laws!

but hey the liberals are even thinking about letting felons IN JAIL vote... WHY? because they know if they don't cheat they need everyone voting for their side.

so reports from ICE and other reputable state sites don't make the case?

Nearly ALL countries that have democratic elections REQUIRE voter ID's issued by the government.

in MANY countries you are REQUIRED to vote in every election.

for being a world super power why don't we?

I would hope so, but how is this law enforced without having to show some form of identification before voting? Having to show or prove anything when trying to vote is viewed as discrimination due to the potential cost of acquiring such paperwork. It's seen as a "poll tax" by those on the left. I agree with the law you are referencing, but it needs to be enforced without bending any of the rules. Want to vote? Show me your ID please. It's not that hard.
