BREAKING: Unemployment Rate INCREASES, Numbers ‘Way Worse Than Expected’. Talk Of Inflation Grows.

The economy appears to be struggling under President Joe Biden, according to new jobs report that was released on Friday morning.

--CNBC: Hiring was a huge letdown in April, with nonfarm payrolls increasing by a much less than expected 266,000 and the unemployment rate rose to 6.1% amid an escalating shortage of available workers.
I wonder how much of that shortage is the result of The American Rescue Plan that Biden signed into law in March. It pays an additional $300.00 a week to remain on unemployment. It continues until September 5th. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is calling on Congress to cancel the program. US Chamber of Commerce calls for ending extra unemployment benefits after disappointing jobs report

just another way to keep the lazy on the government teat. why go to work when the government pays you to sit on your fat ass at home?

266,xxx in new jobs when the forecast was for 1 million new jobs.. sounds like a failure to me!

A normal person would be happy that 266000 people found jobs. Projections are just that. It is someone sayin "If things continue as they have been going, this should happen". Nobody can actually see the future.

There's NOBODY that can make excuses for liberals like a Canadian. That's why Trudeau can kick his feet up on his desk and worry not about being held accountable. He knows that his minions will do his bidding for him.

Let's look at it this way. Just a little math needed.

funny when Trump was in office most times the projected figures were lower than actual jobs filled... now it's just the opposite wonder why?

Yup, and he still couldn't match what Obama did before him.

Raising corporate taxes will only increase the prices of the goods and services they provide, essentially passing the tax down to the consumer. You think they are just going to eat this artificially created loss?

during obama people weren't looking for jobs ... they (like during biden) were living off of the government teat.

President Obama took office on January 20, 2009 in the midst of the Great Recession. Unemployment was skyrocketing as businesses laid off workers. It peaked at 10.3% in October 2009 (it would later be revised to 10%), the worst level in 26 years.
At the end of Obama's term, businesses are hiring and unemployment has fallen back to just 4.7% -- a reflection of a healthy economy. However, labor force participation (a fancy way of referring to the percentage of working U.S. adults) is at its lowest level since the late 1970s. The main reason is that Baby Boomers are retiring, combined with a segment of the population who stopped looking for work because they can't find anything.

Every time the liberals have raised taxes on the "rich" what my take home pay could buy has gone down.
