Re: The Shining City Upon a Hill
One thing to remember about when South Carolina Representative Joe Wilson shouted "You lie" during Obama's address to a Joint Session in November 2009, the really big lie was that Obama even had a plan, or at least on paper. At that time there were 2 plans on paper, Nancy Pelosi's House and Harry Reid's Senate. What we actually ended up with should actually be called Dingy Harry Care.

He is a horrible human being and he still couldn't take away people's health care. It really makes you wonder what the rest of the party is like when they were frothing at the mouth to leave poor people without health care.Comment

Maybe some managers are compensated well enough to go and take out a mortgage, but your "fry cook" position isn't going to get the job done!
There's virtually NO SKILL needed to dump a basket of fries into oil, and then shake some salt on it when it's done.
I'll say it again......Fast food jobs, for the most part, are jobs that are filled by younger people looking to get into the workforce, and are jobs that help younger people expand on their work ethic and teach them some structure of the workplace and certain responsibilities.
If you're working at a McDonald's.......then you're probably not in ANY kind of position to be buying a house or taking out a big loan.OmertÃComment

When are people going to realize that fast food jobs are, for the most part, "entry level jobs" that are usually filled by kids (14 - 18 years old) that are trying to gain the tools and work ethic needed to get into an "actual career". McDonald's is not a "go out and buy a house" type of job! Lol.

If you do not pay enough you will not get many job applicants. Offering Federal minimum wage $7.15 per hour is going to leave your business short staffed.Comment

If you don't open your eyes to the truth about the crime spike in the USA, you're gonna be shocked when liberals lose big time in midterms.
Looking for Clues: Joe Biden to Talk Soaring National Crime Rates with City, Police Leaders
Eric Adams, Brooklyn borough president and the likely next mayor of New York, plus Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser and San Jose, California, Mayor Sam Liccardo are expected to attend the meeting Monday, according to two people familiar with the plans.
They were not authorized to speak publicly about the meeting and spoke to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity, the news service reported.
Biden will also host Memphis Police Chief C.J. Davis, Chief David Brown of Chicago and Lt. Anthony Lima of the Newark, New Jersey, police.
Shootings and killings are up around the nation, with local politicians and police struggling to manage the violence that has become a marked feature of so many Democrat-controlled cities.
In 12 American cities run by Democrats, the murder rate is skyrocketing, according to a study by the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund (LELDF). Nationally, the murder rate has hit a 26-year high.
In some cities cities like Chicago, crime is close to an all time high with no sign of retreat.

Food for thought: Skyrocketing crime and inflation are gonna doom democrats. Republicans just need to sit back and say nothing. Democrats are doing it for them. Let them do what they do.Adversity temporarily visits a strong man but stays with the weak for a lifetime.Comment

White House: Officials Should Use Coronavirus Funds to Fight Crime
A White House memo released Monday directs state and local governments to use coronavirus funds to fight crime and applauds those already doing so.
The memo, first reported by Axios, was authored by Susan Rice, the Domestic Policy Council director; Gene Sperling, who is supposed to oversee the spending from the $1.9 trillion relief package; and Julie Rodriguez, White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs director.
The memo was released hours before a President Joe Biden event designed to show his administration’s awareness of the crime rate spikes, as Breitbart News reported.
The memo titled, How Local and State Government Can – and Should – Use the President’s Gun Crime Reduction Strategy and Historic Rescue Plan Funding to Improve Public Safety, clarifies their plans.
“The core of the President’s plan is a partnership with cities and states, equipping local leaders with historic levels of federal funding and a range of tools to address the multifaceted challenge of gun violence,” the missive states.
The administration’s strategy will use the $350 billion from the American Rescue Plan for “financial support and clear guidance to provide state, local, territorial, and tribal governments the money they need to put more police officers on the beat.”
Officials are also able to use the money for “hiring above pre-pandemic levels in communities experiencing an increase in gun violence associated with the pandemic” and use the funds for “other resources, training, and accountability they need to engage in effective community policing.”
Additionally, the memo states the funds are authorized to be used and should be allocated to “support evidence-based community violence intervention programs, summer employment and educational opportunities, and other investments that we know will reduce crime and make our neighborhoods safer.”Adversity temporarily visits a strong man but stays with the weak for a lifetime.Comment
