Re: The Shining City Upon a Hill
Sorry but that it not anywhere in the US Constitution. Nor it it anywhere in the US Code. Admittedly there are states where one cannot run for state and local office but for President and members of the House and Senate, federal law Trumps state law. There have been numerous times where a convicted felon has ran for the Senate or Congress and won election/reelection.
You don't have to take my word for it. You liberals seem ti like FactCheck.org so here is what they had to say on the subject. Felons in Elected Office - FactCheck.orgComment

A device called an “auto sear” can transform a semi automatic gun into a weapon capable of emptying an entire magazine with a single pull of the trigger. Also known as switches or chips, auto sears have been around since the ‘70s but are exceedingly tough to acquire legally in the United States, where machine guns cannot legally be owned without a special license.
In recent years, an investigation by VICE News and The Trace has found, these small metal or plastic devices have exploded in popularity on the black market and gained a particular cachet among criminals and anti-government extremists.
... now this is a scary, illegal firearm modification!Comment
