Biden, more properly, his handlers are playing damage control. He had no reason to have classified documents in a college office since he was no longer VP. The documents Trump had were, according to him, declassified, as was his choice to do as president. Biden did not have that authority.

Even if the documents had been declassified, which is unlikely, it was still illegal for trumpy to remove them from the White House.

First, the complaints from the left about Trump was about classified documents, unless you hold Biden to the same standards the just STFU. Second, whether he was allowed to have them depended entirely on the contents, which we haven't been shown (that fact alone tells me that nothing of substance was found, if it had been it would have been leaked all over the world by now).
