An unhappy employee can sabotage a business in many ways.

They can also decide to seek employment elsewhere.

Smart employers will gladly pay employees what they deserve.

Project 2025, a Heritage Foundation blueprint for a potential second Trump term that the former president has alternately embraced and distanced himself from, goes even further. The 900-page document outlines plans for a sweeping overhaul of overtime protections that would give employers ways to avoid paying overtime to workers who have long qualified for time-and-a-half pay after 40 hours.

Often restaurants are short staffed and ask their low paid employees to work overtime. This ovetrime pay is an important supplement to their regular pay. You cannot force an employee to work overtime.

Dishes will not get cleaned properly. Tables will not get cleared promptly. Tables will not get waited on quickly. Employers will quickly get the message and ignore Trump's proposed new laws.

I would rather get paid 1.5 times on overtime rather than no taxes on tips.

This is all of bunch of bullshit liberal lies. Why would anyone believe democrats? Hitler? Stalin? End of democracy? The border is secure? The economy is booming? Joe Biden is on top of his game? Russian Hoax?

The only thing concerning overtime that Trump has said is that workers will pay no taxes on it.

Trump’s Proposed Overtime Tax Exemption Would Distort Work Decisions

September 13, 20245 min readBy: Garrett Watson, Erica York
On Thursday evening, former President Donald Trump proposed a blanket exemption from income tax for income earned from overtime work. Exempting overtime from tax would add to Trump’s growing list of newly proposed tax cuts, including exemptions for tipped income and Social Security benefits.

It is common amongst wait staff to under report or hide some portion of their tips.

Overtime pay gets paid every week.

Taxes get paid once per year. Unless deducted at source.

.... because, as demonstrated in his first term as President, Trump has every plan to graft the American people for personal profit in his second term.
