    Too many political threads

When I first joined this site politics was already being discussed an the internal war was already raging. However, most of the political discussion was limited to a few threads. In my infinite wisdom, I get tired of searching through those threads for what I was looking for and decided to make a new thread for whatever was in the news that day.

But I wasn't thinking about how all those threads affected the rest of the board and it showing up in their feed. Me, personally, I'm gonna go back to only posting in a couple of poltical threads and stop making a bunch of new ones. I don't know if it will help but can't hurt.

I find it fascinating that a forum for copiers has an active political community. I figured people would use Twitter, Facebook, or some other forum to express those thoughts/opinions.

That being said, it is starting to get hard to find other threads like the joke of the day, there was one about 3d printing parts, the one about using a NAS, and other things among the political threads.
Worked in IT for 12 years from Helpdesk up to System Administrator. Now working as the IT Manager at a copier company for the last 4 years.

If I helped you out, please give me a thumbs up! It helps my reputation.

Has anyone tried the new bookmark feature?

A new bookmark feature has been added to the site. Users can bookmark a specific post by clicking on the bookmark icon in the upper right corner of any post. These bookmarks can then be accessed through your user profile. The bookmark will go directly to the post and multiple posts within a single topic can be bookmarked. More

I haven't used that specific feature. Instead I just subscribe to the threads I care about.
That bookmark would be handy however to refer back to a specific post.

I just tried it out for the first time and it should solve your problem. Just click on the bookmark icon at the top right of the post and then click your profile and look at the bottom left of the screen and you'll see subscriptions and under that is bookmarks.

It appears to me for those who are don't like seeing political threads that using bookmarks instead of subscribing to a thread should eliminate that. That way you only see what you wanna see. I suspect that's why Aneurysm created bookmarks. You'll have to ask him. 😀

But with subscribing you can get email notifications when new posts are made to threads you are subscribed to. That is what I have always done. I then check for new posts in forums that I follow.

One thing I miss from the old version of the software is that we used to be able to select to view posts from ignored members by just clicking on "View Post"

Sorry, that's the best I could come up with.
