Who wants to be a millionaire question for fun

Just watched this TV quiz game and the question is:

    What is Petrichor?

I won't give you 4 possible answers as right one is pretty obvious. But I never heard that word...who else is simple like me 😊

P.S. Please don't use internet to cheat.

Something to do with chlorophyll, maybe?

      Very close! =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

That surely wasn't the first question? I'd be out there and then.

Hmm. Could be a portmanteau meaning "afraid to work". Petrichor, petrified of chores.

I think it has something to do with smell. I don't remember what though....

From the Pe, I am thinking some type of plastic. Pe-tri-chor.

Or did you make a typo and it is supposed to be Petrichlor, possibly related to a solvent that used to be used to clean mechanical typewriters, adding machines and mechanical calculators.

If you don't have 4 options and one was clearly obvious answer yes it could be one of the last.
Now it was like question 9 of 15.

Petrichor is the smell of rain. The word comes from the Greek words 'petra', meaning stone, and 'ichor', which in Greek mythology refers to the golden fluid that flows in the veins of the immortals.

The phrase was coined by two researchers at the Australian CSIRO science agency in a 1964 article for the journal Nature. In their research, rocks that had been exposed to warm, dry conditions were steam distilled to reveal a yellow coloured oil that had become trapped in the rocks and soil, a substance they discovered was responsible for the smell.
The source of this oil is a combination of oils secreted by plants during dry weather (which signals to halt root growth and seed germination) and chemicals released by soil-dwelling bacteria.
A tree is known by its fruit, a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost, he who sows courtesy, reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.

It can smell bad after a hot period, but that's something to do with the bacteria in the soil, I think.

More precisely, a pleasant smell that frequently accompanies the first rain after a long period of warm, dry weather.

It can also smell bad when you are downwind of forest fires such as here in Bakersfield for the last 6 months. Very few green days, AQI 50 or below. Mostly purple, AQI 201 to 300, and red air, AQI 151 to 200.

This way, I learn something new, and also I do not spend a lot of time on one question and I can continue to solve the quiz.
