Well let's do a couple of calculations using available online converters. First 1.55 BPS would be $2.05 per liter. Then converting to gallons we get $7.76 per gallon.

Many places in Canada are already well above this cost.

A was a bit suprised by this (if accurate). I think Canada would be willing to up their exports to the US if we stopped inporting Russian oil.

Crude is more than fuel. Higher prices for crude oil are going to make many things much more costly, not just petrol.

... I have a friend with a Tesla and he just smiles when talk turns to gas prices.

EVs cost a lot more to acquire but they make up for it in much lower operating and maintenance costs.
