Apparently copier idiot does not understand the Federal Reserve System and its affect on the stock market. The 75 point increase in the Fed rate was too much and tar too late. They should have raised it by no more than 25 points in February 2021 to slow down an over heated market. But then the news would not have been able to use the stock market as good news for Biden.

$6.50 a gallon this morning in California

Depends on where you are in California and what grade gasoline you are buying. The statewide average for regular, what most news shows quote, is $6.428. Some areas are over $9.00. Gas at California station nears $10 per gallon | Fox Business

Here in Bakersfield we are still a little less than the California average. Bakersfield, CA Gas Prices

Can't wait to get back Atlanta and pay $4.50 for gas again. I can't believe I just said that.

During your visit in Canada you forgot to mention that the road system and civic infrastructure was much better than back in the USA, paid for with higher taxes and fewer road tolls.

... most major US oil companies are currently making record profits because of the war in Ukraine.

These same companies have 9,000 un-utilized oil leases in the USA from which they could pump more oil to help bring supply back in line with demand. All the permits are granted, they could start drilling tomorrow.

Unfortunately, these oil companies have chosen to reward their shareholders first over servicing the nation.

President Biden is using what powers are available to him to increase domestic production.

Biden tells US oil refiners record profits are ‘not acceptable’


President Joe Biden told US oil refiners that unprecedented profit margins are unacceptable and called for “immediate action” to improve capacity as the soaring price of gasoline feeds record inflation and fears of a recession.

“At a time of war, refinery profit margins well above normal being passed directly onto American families are not acceptable,” Biden said in a letter sent Wednesday to top oil companies.

Biden said his administration was prepared to take any “reasonable and appropriate” steps that would help companies increase output in the near term and said he’s ordering Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm to hold an emergency meeting on the subject in the coming days.

The president added that the federal government will open talks with the National Petroleum Council -- an advisory committee representing the industry -- and called on companies to provide the Energy Department with an explanation of why they have cut capacity and what could be done to address gas prices that now average more than $5 per gallon nationwide.

"At a time of war" America is not at war . When we were in Iraq and Afghanistan actually fighting gas prices did not go up like this . As much as you would like this is not a socialist country . This administration has tied the hands of the oil companies and now want to tell them how to run there companies and what kind of profits they should make . November 2024 needs to get here quick

The right doesn't even know what they are arguing about anymore. On one hand they dislike high gas prices and want to blame biden, but on the other hand they know the oil companies are gouging them and they also have to defend them for that.

Well, that puts you 2,448 death short of the truth. Invoking 13 dead because it fills a talking point against a president you do not like only cheapens the deaths of all those who died in service of this country.
You also failed to mention the 60 deaths from 2017-2020, where is your outrage for those lost lives....? Spare us your false outrage.

Gasoline makes up roughly 2% of Americans annual budget, it's a small amount compared to everything else. Maybe, just maybe, if we lived within our mean, there would be less pissing and moaning.
