Electric Cars' Turning Point May Be Happening as U.S. Sales Numbers Start Climb
EVs are still far from mainstream, but a 60 percent rise in new-EV registrations is definitely a sign they're getting closer.

EVs probably are not going away like you say. Electric motor basically has only one moving part compared to a gas engine. The problem is right now there is not enough clean electricity to supply the demand. I will have to find the article, but it said right now EVs are dirtier than a regular car. The EV car is clean but you have to factor in how the electricity was gotten. I also admit in time all those problems will get worked out and get better. But it is gonna take many years until electric is standard and we can get rid of gas vehicles. So the gas engine is going to be around for years to come. So we can still and need to support gas and oil for quite a while until the electric is fully ready yo roll out for the masses. So even IF people were all excited about electric and all decided to go out and buy electric, well the infrastructure is not here yet,not even close. So even though technology is changing it is going to take time before electric can do what gas and oil do for us right now. I am not against electric,in my opinion it is nowhere near ready yet.

... with the proper legislation in a functioning, non partisan democracy EVs can replace gas vehicles quicker than you think.

No it emits pollution from the tires and the metals needed to produce all the parts.
